When the first-generation Porsche Panamera debuted it was a bit deal. Not only did the storied German sports car manufacturer decide to build a four-door sedan, it also decided to up the ante when it came to its interiors.
Before the Panamera, Porsche's interiors were just OK. After the Panamera, it became clear one of the company's main focuses was on interior quality and ergonomics. It seems the second-gen Panamera will follow suit, but in a different fashion.
While the first-gen ushered in the raised center console so drivers could easily tap buttons of their desire, it seems that the second-gen car will benefit from a flatter center console. As it is pretty well disguised, we have no idea if the company will stick to its button-centric approach or follow suit of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz with various touch-sensitive or gesture-based controls.
In addition, please note the second-generation Panamera's all-new door card. If you ask me, it appears to integrate wood and aluminum in a more sophisticated fashion than previously seen. Should be interesting to see the end result.
