Has the one in the video been lowered? I have to say it looks pretty damned good as shown. Whether it will take a bite out of German sales remains to be seen.

I thought the same thing about it being lowered. Looks good!

If Alfa Romeo equals the Germans in performance and features for 15% less out of pocket, they could make sales happen with cheap leases and a "Hyundai" warranty.

The side profile looks nice.

I'd bet my blood that Alfa is not within the Top 3 luxury automakers within the next decade. That would be a resounding "No!" to this post's title question.

I agree, but I also don't think any of the Germans has a shoe in for a spot either. Look at how much undeserved esteem Tesla has as a totally unproven manufacturer. Alfa could do well, but it will come down to product and price being sweeter than sweet.

I'd take a Giulia over an XE 24-7-365...

Let's also keep in mind that Alpha will have a very small dealer network so it can't possibly compete with the more established rivals on that point alone. It will be a nice niche alternative though.

There is some chatter about ways to expand the dealer network.

You already asked this question before - and this time you failed to define what a "chance" is. I said before that the car MIGHT have a chance in Europe - but to have a chance in the USA - it will need to be competitive in interior size with Mid Size US cars - which are larger than most Mid-size european cars (Note - the Buick Regal)

I am not sure the Alfa will be perceived anywhere as being that high of a premium car - it may end up closer to the Volvo area. And I suspect it will sell similar to the Volvos too.

I'd market the Giulia as a muscle car done by the Italians.

Alfa Romeo has no legacy in the USA so a mystique can be manufactured. The way Alfa can beat the 3 Series and the C Class is by not even trying to emulate them--too late given the carbon-copy 3 Series styling of the Giulia.

What if you got a V6 in the Giulia for the price of the wheezer 2.0T engines the premium sedans are gravitating to?

What if there were something as crass and vulgar as a Hemi Giulia? An American heart in an Italian machine has been done a lot and a Hemi Giulia would sell.

As would a Hellcat Ghibli.
