Telsa Model S P85D, Vs. Audi RS7, Vs. Alpina DX3 - The Results May Surprise You

The cars in this track battle video aren't direct rivals but they're all highly desirable, extremely quick and the result will surprise you

This is one of the more eclectic track battles we've done. We've lined up the diesel Alpina XD3 Biturbo, the petrol Audi RS7 Sportback and the all-electric Tesla Model S P85D - check out the video above to see how each car fared.

This test was done from a standing start- it's a test of both acceleration and handling on a test track.

Why not compare a Surrey with the Fringe on Top - to a Roman Royal Chariot - to a Tesla - oops - They probably could not charge the Batteries in the Tesla back then! Of course there is always a Kite and a key.

There are advantages of an electric motor over a gasoline engine - and straight line acceleration is one of them. However - the disadvantage - the weight of the Battery Pack - reduces the car to a VERY fast drag strip racer. The Tesla is basically the "green" persons car - and electric cars are not selling well - now that oil is plentiful again. Tesla has the money to survive a while - and by that time - there will be competition - and none of them will survive long.

WTF? Bro do you even physics? The weight of the battery pack would be a concern whether you're talking straight line or not. And in this case the battery pack is low to the ground, giving the Tesla a low center of gravity which actually helps track handling tremendously.

TomM - - - I assume you didn't watch the Video? The times were based on a winding race track and not a drag strip.

TomM, please see the video...the numbers leave the Tesla in Extraordinary position...In fact most of the cars won't as good as it was on track, and I am talking about dedicated cars...

what is really amazing in that test is that the Alpina X3 keeps up on the track with Audi RS7 and the New Tesla .
