DRAG RACE! WHICH Nissan Gets The "W?" The GT-R NISMO vs. The Juke-R 2.0

DRAG RACE! WHICH Nissan Gets The
When Nissan set to build one of the world's greatest sports cars, who knew that the GT-R with its girth would be one of the quickest cars on the planet? To keep this brief, the GT-R is simply an astonishing piece of engineering, even if its transmission is likely to grenade at some point.

But what was even more fascinating, is when a skunkworks project took the GT-R's essentials and made it work with the company's compact SUV, the Juke's, body. Soon there were videos making their way around the 'net of the Juke-R destroying Lamborghinis and Ferraris as if they were standing still.

Now there's a Juke-R 2.0 and the GT-R NISMO, which is the most hardcore GT-R ever built.

So, which one is quicker in a straight line?

Autocar's Matt Prior met up with Nissan and one of the company's LMP drivers to sort out this matter.

A couple of weeks ago we thought the 542bhp Jaguar F-Type AWD might just have enough power to de-throne the internet's darling Nissan GT-R. It didn't.

We've gone away scratched our heads and decided this time to play a wildcard, with the Juke-R 2.0.

Disatisfied with the 485bhp V6 in the original Juke-R, Nissan has this time used a Nismo engine from the GT-R production line and bolted it in to this 2.0, meaning it now produces the same 591bhp and 485lb ft of torque as the GT-R Nismo. This is your pound for pound fight of the year.

In the right corner, at the helm of the Juke-R 2.0 we have Matt Prior, and in the left corner, none other than Jann Mardenborough, Nissans GT Academy winner.

@222max Um, no, it isn't. The GTR still belches transmissions. But hey, so does the 370Z like the 350Z before it, but at least the GTR doesn't have its brake fluid boiling--as the Z cars do--when used at the track.
