Near-production rendering of 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Near-production rendering of 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV
The Chevrolet Bolt EV concept was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in January and was confirmed for production in February.

In June, GM released a video which showed Bolt EV prototypes being tested at its Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan. Among other things, the prototypes were being tested for the handling dynamics, cabin comfort, quietness, charging capability, and energy efficiency.

The production version is expected to be nearly identical to the concept and digital artist Shoeb Kalania has depicted his impression of the same in a new rendering. Changes speculated include a restyled front bumper and grille, slightly bigger headlamps, bigger ORVMs and different LED taillights. The Bolt EV will have support for DC charging and will offer a range of over 200 miles (322 km).

This will do well I predict. It's the first affordable, bespoke EV that isn't ugly.

"Its price will start at around US $30,000"

LOLLLL!!!!!

What are they SMOKING at GM?

Did they learn NOTHING from the Volt and the ELR?

What ignorant fools running GM keep believing Americans will want to pay $30-40k for something no better than a Golf (this) or a Dodge Stratus (the Volt)?

With the Feds and many states giving tax breaks on these, the price drops in a hurry. GM et.al. have to have these to satisfy the government regs.,

The Spark EV has been a very strong performer for sales which is surprising given that it is a hastily cobbled together product. I predict the Bolt being more purposefully designed will essentially inherit those sales and also sales against the Leaf.

Why does this "electric" vehicle have so many air vents? If this car is electric, there is nothing creating heat in the front under the hood. SO....

There are radiators for the el. motor, power electronics, and battery as well as the evaporator for the AC. Not sure if the Bolt EV will have active shutters.

Pardon, AC condenser, not evaporator, unless it has a heat pump :)
