Aston Martin Announces 800HP All Electric Rapide Within 2 Years

The longtime builder of British sports cars will bring an all-electric version of its four-door Rapide to market in two years, CEO Andy Palmer confirmed to Automotive News.

Speaking at Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance -- a target-rich environment for a high-end brand such as Aston Martin -- Palmer said the electric Rapide would be followed by an all-electric version of the DBX crossover by the end of the decade. Palmer’s confirmation comes several months after he indicated Aston was considering an electric Rapide in April.

Aston Martin will always be a second string player until they are aquired by Mercedes or another manufacturer.

Not sure how many of those they will sell. Anyway, when was the last time ANYONE saw a 4-door Rapide, anywhere? I saw two recently - both on the showroom floor of the dealer when my DB9 was in for service. Pounds Sterling on the hood?

I saw one actually driving on the road in the Hamptons about 18 months ago. That's it. Full stop. I live in the NY area and I've only seen one. Does Aston sell ANY Rapides?
