I've never been interested in the Prius. I'm not a "save the world" sort of guy. I'm not into the "oil conspiracy." I'm not a celebrity who has a burning urge to impress upon the world how good a human being I am. I also have a personal preference for something more luxurious, like the mid-line products from BMW and Audi. That's just me.

I don't understand why Toyota/Lexus are sharing design cues so closely now. In some ways it's increasing the image of Toyota, but, more importantly, I think it might be damaging the image of Lexus. The grilles on the Toyota products are not far off from Lexus and now the blacked-out C/D pillar from the new RX is showing on this Prius. Honda/Acura seem to be moving closer to that as well, even moreso than previous.

I like it...looks more spacious. I have a current 2013 Prius...love it. Just wish the interior a softer feel. Over 110k miles and battery still does not need replacing yet. I hear it can go over 250k

Yes unfortunately, that is a proven fact that Toyota and Lexus are doing best out of all the car companies is consistantly coming out with the ugliest cars and SUVs per new model release. Makes you wonder if Toyota's top chief Akio is letting his grand children design all of the new Toyota and Lexus models. FAIL!

Unless something changes quickly - the current drop off of the cost of fuel now makes it virtually impossible to justify a Hybrid. I suspect that sales will be low for quite a while as gas move toward $2 a gallon in some areas. Yes - in California that might not be the case. However - the biggest problem with the HYbrids is that they invariable give up on cargo space for the Batteries. A Prius rear seat had no real room anyway. So - the car ends up being a two seater. You have more room in a Fusion Hybrid - but the trunk still ends up so small that I cannot get some of my luggage in it. So - that limits the market to those green people who already have them.

I have always thought the 2nd and 3rd gen were one of the best contemporary designs for a compact 4 door. I have seriously been considering one now that they are on clearance with a $5k discount the hybrid purchase premium is nil. Future repairs is the only premium, though reliability has proven to be industry best with Lexus. The new model though could have meaningful upgrades in performance, interior, and technology.

I've never been interested in the Prius. It's always been hideous. It's always lacked refinement. it's always been a REALLY expensive Corolla.

the back looks like a Ford Probe from this angle.

It is only good if the people that get one learn that they should not be idling along in the #1 lane on the freeway slower than the speed of traffic, or if they people that get one learn that a line of cars in their rearview mirror means that they are going too slow.

Someone needs to talk to Automotive News about how they display their pictures. Counterintuitive and user unfriendly.
