What Does Your IDEAL BMW Garage Look Like? IF You Had Three Bimmers, WHICH Three Would It Be?

One of the great things about forums is that it bubbles up to the surface interesting stories about the people behind the cars. While it's always interesting to hear about an executive's life behind his 911 or M3, it's even better to hear how someone's passion was fueled.

Sometimes it was a gearhead father or a grandfather who raced in his off time. Sometimes it's just someone who cultivated a love for a brand via ridealongs at an early age.

And sometimes it's a user from Istanbul that shares their BMW collection, and their cars' stories that puts you in a state of awe. One particular BMW forum user did just that and I have to admit it's a nice threesome. That's because Bimmerpost user Clubber recently showed off and told the story of his three BMW M cars:

- An E30 M3
- An M Coupe
- An E46 M3 CSL

Pretty tough combination to beat, however, I am curious: IF you had a three-car garage full of BMW products, WHICH THREE would it be?

Just wanted to say hi and share my cars, '87 E30 M3 (Henna), '00 M Coupé (Junior) and '04 E46 M3 CSL (Cesil). Of course they are nowhere as impressive as some of the builds and collection I saw here but, I have a feeling that this crowd would appreciate them more than any place else.

As much as BMWs are truly fine vehicles -- and I've owned 4 in my life and been very happy with them -- BMW and my tastes don't have a match at this time. They don't offer anything I aspire to own. I lost interest during the Flame Surface era, and have shifted my sites elsewhere.

I once really liked the M1 but... My ideal garage would not have any BMWs even though there is one in it right now... Though perhaps a 6 csi. Hmmm...

Like TheSteve and ATrain I have owned many BMW's in the past but the passion is gone with the latest offerings. BMW is offering a broader range of vehicles to a broader customer base by leveraging its heritage but is loosing its enthusiast base by being too conservative in design and performance. A good short term business strategy but a looser in the long run. I hear that the company may be getting the message and planning more exciting next generation cars. Time will tell. Until then my dream garage like others will be without BMW's for now.

Due to my size and the fact that the BMW larger offerings were always lacking compared to others - I never was really into BMW - I would prefer putting together an American Muscle car. Of course - if Agent00R wants to give me a set of 7 series Bmws - I would not turn them down - but I would not take my S600 out of the garage for them either

E90 M3 (present ride)- would trade it for an E92 GTS in orange

Test drove 650 convertible (vs. Merc SL550) as part of a BMW event last week and also took the I3 out for a spin. 650 clearly beat the Merc for me. I3 doesn't want to be tossed through curves but does feel very light and I was much more impressed by the electric motor and torque than I thought I would be.

I have never owned a BMW, but if I could have any three in my garage, I would choose a late 30's 328, a 50's 507, and a Z8.
