If Lexus Built A High Performance LX-F, Who Would Buy It?
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Lexus revealed the facelifted 2016 LX SUV, the company's flagship SUV which has never apologized for being big, bulky, and luxurious. But while other members of the Lexus family have, in recent years, been given an F performance version, the LX never got its own F-branded high-performance model. And with competitors, like the Mercedes-Benz GL, spawning hotter variants like the GL63 AMG, maybe it's time for Lexus to offer an F variant that could look a little something like this:

No. Simple as that.

Who would buy it? Not me. I can't get past the look, though I'm sure it's a fine vehicle.

I would if it sold for less than $100 new
I'll Bet you would too! We all have our price!

Otherwise - Lexus has redefined how BAD they can actually style a car and still get some nutty executive to sign off on the design. I've seen better car designs from Kindergarten kids using crayons.

We had to know that eventually they would make a vehicle that would make the Dick Teague Matador look good -

Nope! If I could get it for $100, then so can anyone else. That means I can't get my $100 back by selling it :-( It's not a car I would want, even if it was free. Why would I want something I don't care for, unless I can sell it at a profit to someone who wants it?

No...only idiots would by AMG/M/S/F for a SUV. Why do people think any vehicle needs to do 0-60 in less than 8 secs. Its a matter of time you kill your family or someone else. NO ONE NEEDS TO DRIVE A BULLET!

True. If you suck at driving, I think you should just stick with your Toyota Corolla lol!

SUV + high power = stability issues. The standard SUVs have more than enough power, but megapower in higher riding vehicles can get a person into a mess of trouble very quickly.

Yes, putting more power into a large SUV makes little (driving) sense. You won't ever use the top level of its performance on the average roads or highways. But increasingly, these high-zoot SUVs are coming with a lot of standard features included & better exterior designs which increases the "WOW" factor as well.

And there are already numerous over-powered non-performance SUVs on the road today, there's not really a significantly increase in chances for an accident just bcuz a more powerful SUV is on the road. Only the driver is responsible to learn the dynamics of his vehicle & to learn to control it responsibly.

NO one. Putting power into that antiquated old truck would be stupid.

MB GL Maybach will kill Landcruiser/LX Middle East sales numbers.

If we're talking about selling to the customers in the Middle East who seem to universally lack taste, then fine, build an LXF, but people in the sane world will see that this is an OLD truck with its bones going back to the early 1990s. The basic shell of the Land Cruiser/LX has not been substantially changed in a very very long time.

The age of the Land Cruiser/LX makes the Expedition/Navigator look almost new.

The Landcruiser/LX has a V8 engine and chassis designed from the 90's. One way to keep costs low. Boring.

This and the GX quickly betray their ancient underpinnings the minute things get dicey in driving. When my wife decided we needed a babymobile, she and and a friend went shopping and she thought the Lexus GX was cute.

I took her for a ride, did an emergency lane change maneuver in it and it scared the spit out of her. We then did the same thing in a Mercedes GL and there was virtually no drama.

I could have gotten the GX for a stupid amount off because Lexus is literally dumping them to maintain market share, but it is in my opinion an unsafe vehicle.

The LX only magnifies the problems of the GX by having more mass to throw around.
