SPIED On The STREET! The All-New BMW X1 Is Nabbed In SoCal — WHY The Camo, Guys?
The BMW X1 is one of those vehicles that never got a proper start in the US market. By the time it took BMW to get the vehicle over to the States, so much time had passed since it was launched abroad that it seemed, frankly, outdated.
While I know Agent 001 was a fan of the X1, it didn't exactly light my fire. Looking a bit goofy and quite small on the inside, to me it wasn't much of anything aside from a roundel-equipped cute ute.
Now though it appears BMW has done it right. With the all-new X1 the vehicle has certainly matured and boasts a handsome design.

Spied by our friend Fred Khaz, the all-new X1 was snapped on our shores for the first time. Sporting some camouflage — really, what's the point guys? — it was parked on a SoCal street. While it may look quite tiny next to the lifted Chevrolet Suburban, if you compare its size to the Chrysler minivan behind it, that should give you a pretty good idea of its scale.

The X1 like the 1 Series (now 2 Series) was simply a dumb move because they were priced very similarly to the X3/3 Series and offered only compromises in return.
The FWD architecture of the X1/1 Series will be game changing for the entry-level BMWs.
