If You Only Had $30K For A Pony Car, Would It Be A Camaro, Mustang, Or Challenger?
Say you’re interested in buying the entry-level version of your favorite modern muscle car. That means you’ll be getting a V6 with around 300 hp for under $30,000. There’s also a turbo four available in the Camaro and Mustang, and though it wouldn’t be our first choice, we tossed in that pricing too. The Challenger is simply too awesome for any engine smaller than a V6. Chevy and Ford have already released 2016 pricing for the Camaro and Mustang, respectively, but Dodge has yet to do so for the Challenger.

Traditional Mustang buyers knew the 2015 was coming with IRS so they waited. Mustang sales are through the roof at the moment. Keeping the base V6, the mid-point Ecoboost, and the fully loaded 5.0 on the lot is an impossibility.

A lot of people have discovered--for example--that the base V6 has as much power as the 05 GT, is faster and gets better MPG by a wide margin, and has more options than a fully loaded 05 GT for $10K less. THAT is the value of the base.

The Ecoboost and the GT only sweeten the deal to the point of irresistibility.

Listen to yourself James -- Sounds really arrogant to me. A good friend told me one time to never make fun of someone else's car or what they can afford. God is certainly capable of seeing to it that you find yourself in a position of not being able to afford as much as you do now.
