The FIRST and BEST Shots From The Launch Of The All-New 2016 BMW 7-Series
Although our very own Agent 001 made a trip to Munich over the summer to see the launch of the all-new BMW 7-Series with his own two eyes, he didn't get the chance to get behind the wheel on that trip. It was merely a show and tell affair.

This weekend though the head cheese landed in Newark to take it all in for the very first time. As I waited for the big guy to come out of the airport he asked if I was parked in the Budweiser factory's lot — if you've flown into EWR, you know what I am talking about.

2016 BMW 7-Series

Monday was the first day 001 got to experience the all-new from the blue and white. While we know the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the current benchmark, that may be set to change. That's because BMW brought its "A" game this time around.

In true AutoSpies form, 001 snapped a slew of photographs for YOU. That's because we want to make this experience as real as possible.

And, as usual, we'll be providing with coverage you won't find anywhere else. There's a lot of ground to cover.

First, we'll kick off with a series of shots from Monday's ride and drive. Feast your eyes, below!

Nice Lexus GS profile and Audi rear. Hyundai Genesis interior. BMW is not luxury like Benz or Lexus. I'm sure all the worker bees will want one and all the wealthy will drive a Benz or Lexus to play golf.

BMW. Bald Man Wish. I 'be only notice bald guys driving BMW...hmmmmmm. Improve aero so they can get to work faster.

Interesting to see a $100K plus car being photographed in a bankrupt, collapsed and failed town. What was the photographer and advertising company thinking? Blatant cluelessnes and insensitivity to be sure.

You're kidding, right?

I still can't "unsee" that hockey stick on the side.

Franky, that front end doesn't make sense to me on a full-size luxury car. it looks more like something I'd expect on a 3-series with sports package.

I'm still a bit baffled by BMW's design decision here. Why wrap such amazing technology in yesterday's design? Not even yesterday's design, but last decade's design? I really think the majority of buyers of this car will be BMW-faithful. Very few conquest sales will occur.

Nothing stands out about this car and I agree with the comment about the background for this shooting. It just adds even more sadness.

The hockey sticks on the sides really stand out no matter how you look at it and looks odd like a cheap add on and out of place.

Do we get any driving impressions or has 001 been reduced to the staff photographer?

It is a great looking car in person. and the interior is worlds better than the one it replaced. Having sold both BMW and Mercedes, this is a completely different animal than the Mercedes. Much more aggressive. The M-sport package looks bada** in person. The interior is nicer.

The stripe between the wheels is a total fail. BMW just seems lost with this design. It's part of the reason I switched from BMW to Porsche.
