CAR WARS! BIG, BAD German Convertibles. Who Gets YOUR Vote? BMW M6 vs. Mercedes-AMG S63

CAR WARS! BIG, BAD German Convertibles. Who Gets YOUR Vote? BMW M6 vs. Mercedes-AMG S63
It seems that the BMW M6 Convertible finally has met its match. Rather than just slug it out in a very awkward spot between four-seater luxury convertibles like the Maserati GranCabrio and Bentley Continental GT Convertible, an all-new high-performance luxury drop top has emerged.

That's where the all-new Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet comes into the picture.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet

While the BMW M6 has been the go-to choice for those six-figure buyers looking to have a bit of performance while catching some rays, the AMG is sure to offer a compelling package.

That's because it's equipped with over 575 horsepower and over 660 lb.-ft. of torque that's sent to all wheels. The AMG benefits from a seven-speed MCT 'box and will hit 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

All of this is pretty impressive, especially when you consider that the S-Class is notorious for its much smoother ride while BMWs tend to be on the more connected side — in other words, the BMWs are a bit rougher over broken pavement.

So, WHICH one gets YOUR vote? The M6 or the S63?

S63 Cabriolet, easily. The nose is growing on me and the more pictures I see, the more this car is looking absolutely fantastic. The S63 looks the part of a high-performance, high-cache, big-bucks car. The M6 looks exactly what it is, a class below. The M6 Cabrio starts at $118k. The S63 coupe starts at $163k, so I would imagine the Cabriolet will be well north of that. Between the two, I would have to say, based on pictures, the S63 looks like it's worth the cost moreso than the M6. BUT, I wouldn't kick the M6 out of my bed, either :-)

They both just look absolutely amazing. But imagine Lexus LS being parked right next to those two. I would laugh at the LS so hard, for trying hard.

Why did I pick the LS? Because Lexus doesn't even have a big coupe when this is supposed to be a "luxury" brand lol! Besides, it's not like anyone wants to drive some, big "Japanese luxury" coupe anyway lol!

If you think about it, Lexus only has the history of failures.

Lexus SC failed. Lexus IS-F failed. Lexus GS-F, now forgotten, already. Lexus LFA, practically invisible. Lexus RC, failed to get the attention that they wanted.

Oh well, we all know Lexus sucks. Anyway, I'd say the S63 is slightly better compared to the M6.

They don't really compete but I'll take the Merc any day.

I dunno on this one. I'm typically in favor of the Merc, but here recently, I was staying at a hotel where someone actually had a brand new M6 cabriolet.

It's a pretty sinister looking vehicle in all black.

And Lexus is nobody, why?

Because no one really wants a Lexus ROFL!!!!! Just like how no one wants to go to Fukushima because of radiation.

Mercedes fast track design all the way....BMW design theme is running in place for last ten years.

The BMW is less ugly. Make mine a BMW.

The Mercedes looks like a pretty Hollywood actress that has gotten old, fat, and saggy. It's truly an ugly car, but it will sell like mad which makes Mercedes vibrant. Mercedes really has tapped into a demographic that has taste only in their mouths and who equate wretched excess blingyness and copious lines and swirls as great styling.

Let me guess, you are Lexus owner?

Both cars are nice but completely different markets, also I think the price difference is like 100.000.00$ and the 6 series is a lot smaller in the rear seat.

the s class convertible is pretty tight in the back seat.

This is not a comparison of equals and so the Bimmer looses unfairly

It depends somewhat on whether you're buying it just to look at it or if you also want to drive it.

Its not even close. The M6 is by far and above better. I have driven both and the M6 makes you feel alive. The mercedes makes you feel like its an average day, but at least a good day. But to really feel like youre winning at life, drive an M6.

M6 wins! The MB looks frumpy to me and the M6 looks mean!
