RENDERED SPECULATION: What Does The Production Lexus LC NEED To Deliver For YOU To Be Interested?
When I think of Toyota's luxury division, Lexus, I do not immediately think of super luxurious products or its formerly unique owner experience. Now I tend to think of decent products that tend to be reliable and have some interesting features.

Some of Lexus' allure has dissipated for me.

It has nothing to do with the styling, which is actually quite good. Check out the all-new NX and soon-to-be released RX. And then there's the RC, which I've found stimulating from day one. For me, the problem resides in how the latest Lexus products drive. They feel like a step behind the latest and greatest competition.

To me, it's clear that the company needs a really groundbreaking vehicle that will restore confidence in the L brand. I think the LC will be the car to do it.

When it was first seen as the LF-LC Concept, it stole the attention at the auto show it first appeared at. It was gorgeous, had a stunning cockpit and was the epitome of innovative.

Now that we know the company is going to deliver an all-new flagship and that the LC has been spied testing on a couple occasions, I just have to ask:

What does the Lexus LC NEED to deliver in order for YOU to turn your head?

What would get ME interested is if it looked a lot less like today's Lexuses :-/

Many things.

1. It should be priced at around, $14,000 ~ $35,000. No more than this.
2. And just make it reliable.

There, those 2 things are the only stuff that the Lexus buyers expect from Lexus, so Lexus needs to get those 2 right.

Thank you, for absolutely nothing.

Dump the spindle grille and stop putting every derivative design cliché there is on a car—then we can talk. The little "check marks" under the headlights ... The bulging ass-end with trailing taillights. These overwrought design elements make what could be a very handsome car a very unappealing joke. Lexus designers need to get rid of their "crouching tiger" or "wind traveling through trees" concept bullshit and realize they are designing cars and not competing in an origami contest. Just my opinion ...

I totally agree with Dexter1 on all the bad Lexus design negatives he noted on all the Lexus designs and then some but my BIGGEST deterrent from even considering a new LC is if it has that horrible spindle predator grill that has absolutely got to go and would be a deal breaker for buying it.

Light weight, great handling, globs of torque and a knockout interior.

The LC has to be priced lower than the competition comparably equipped.

actually that one photo looks pretty good. Even the spindle grill isn't horrible in this application. Just get rid of the Nike swoosh headlights.

I agree with JRob. For some reason this rendering is not so painful to see.
In any case, it'll need to handle well, be fast, and smell like a German car inside. Oh, and price it 5% or 10% below.

If their intent is a sports car to rattle the 911, AMG-GT, et al, then the concept should be sent right to production, design-wise. Some of the garish design elements would actually make sense and fits the theme.

If they intend to build a truer GT, then don't bother.

I like your thinking!

The concept was staggering and it was a universal sensation.
