Ford Mondeo concept surfaces overnight
While most of us in North America were asleep, a European outlet by the name of Coche Actual published what appears to be an official shot of the Ford Mondeo concept that will be seen at the Paris Motor Show next week. The concept is in wagon form, but we're likely to see the production version of both the sedan and wagon at next year's Geneva Motor Show. Built on the same platform as the new S-Max and Galaxy, the Mondeo is expected to be a class leader in the handling department and will share engines with its MPV brethren. This means the Mondeo should be available with a 145-hp, 2.0-liter and a 220-hp, 2.5-liter turbo, along with at least one diesel option. The Mondeo concept's design is a pleasure to behold, with a face that's nearly a carbon copy of the Iosis concept we first saw at the 2005 Frankfurt show. Can't wait to see this one in person.

how many names can ford come up with for the same vehicle? do they need another sedan with a base model that gets less that 30 mpg? i think not. also the performance engine will be underpowerd and not considered by real driving enthusiest that could prob get somthing a little more beefy for their dollar.

Looks like its the cousin of a Mazda6 wagon.

Probably another Ford hatchback/wagon that will fail.

I like this design better than any other ford sedan/wagon on the market. A step in the right direction. Do the window lines look a little german? or is it just me?

as i think it would be cool to get this car, it more than likely won't make it here to the states. ...but seeing as how many Mondeos on the streets of Europe, i think it will be a big hit.

Will they make this the Mazda 6 in the US or a Ford wagon??? By the looks of it we are not getting this wagon with a Ford nameplate.

Rupert - good point. I did not know this was strictly for the Euro market.
