Holy VOLT! Did Toyota COMPLETELY Rip Off The Interior Of The Last Chevrolet Volt For The 2016 Prius? If So, God WHY?
Over the years we've driven and read a lot about the Toyota Prius. There's good reason as it is a big seller and many of its buyers are tremendously loyal to the nameplate.

Whether you ask a New York City cabbie or a suburban working mom about their Prius, nine times out of 10 it's going to be positive feedback that many people agree "Nothing goes wrong with them!"

But that doesn't mean there aren't things people would want to change.

A lot of that frustration came down to the interior. While there's no question Toyota brought its "A" game with the third-gen Prius, it has become quite dated over the past couple of years. Now with the 2016 Prius, the company has emphasized that it has made substantial changes.

But, if we're honest — and you know we are — after looking at the photos of the 2016 model year car, we do have to say it looks similar to the current-gen Chevrolet Volt. And, that's not a good thing.

That's why we have to ask: Did Toyota COMPLETELY rip off the interior of the Chevrolet Volt for the 2016 Prius? And, if you believe so, WHY?

Need a Hug?
The Prius’ new, premium interior adopts advanced technology complemented by features that are functional, fun and have high visual impact. The wrap-around dash design, form-hugging seats, ease of controls and improved visibility put the driver in complete control.

Once inside, drivers will feel immediately comfortable and impressed by styling cues that are unique in the industry.  The wide instrument panel, seamlessly designed to be both functional and beautiful, gives a sense of comfort and spaciousness.  Available premium white ornamentation in the lower sections of the cabin is reminiscent of fine bone china...

It's not very surprising. After all, we are talking about the country "Japan", that does not know how to make decent cars anymore, nor does it even know how to innovate.

Japan is a country that relies on the outdated technologies, so that they can just keep telling people that they make "reliable" stuff, but at the end of the day, that is nothing more than an excuse.

The steering wheel is almost a copy of the Dodge Caravan wheel they have been using for years and years.
However - once you add in a Video screen for the now required rearview camera - and it has to be almost the width of the console - there is not much room left for anything else - and there is a limit as to where you can actually place the screen there. Too low makes it hard to use

However - Clearly the design of the dash has been used to make it easier to produce both Left hand and Right Hand Drive cars - You can use most of the upper sections on both - only moving the Steering wheel and the light controls on a lower facia of the dash- I wonder why YOU did not it - it is really obvious.

I'm sure most people have never seen the interior of a VOLT. With a sensational headline like that, you'd expect at least one photo of the VOLT interior for readers to decide.
