#IAA: Peeking Past Those Clamshell Doors Does The Mission E Have What It Takes To Put All Other EV Cars In The Rearview Mirror?

Have you ever asked yourself how Telsa got to where it is today?  Part of the appeal we guess is that it looks like nothing else on the road.  As the local Tesla club shows up at Cars and Coffee car shows each month the locals that ogle over the Model S are enamored over the wizardry of that big screen in the center stack.

It doesn’t matter if it is practical, it combines a clean, minimal and futuristic look a generation that grew up on Star Trek sequels crave.  The Model S is their Starship Enterprise (or as close as they will ever get), and they are ready to play the part of captain.   Fantasy comes to life so to speak.

The Porsche Mission e holds up well compared to the Model S on the outside but the inside is a different and more practical approach.  Yes it is still a Starship, but far from the Enterprise,.

So peeking past those sexy clamshell doors will the average Tesla buyer going to appreciate a practical approach or be turned off by the seemingly more business like Mission e?  What about you?

If Porsche is smart enough to match the Tesla's price point, this will kill it.

They will have to match a whole lot more than that.

I think the average Tesla buyer is not going to be able to afford a $180,000 car. This will be the selling price of this Porsche. Count on it.

The average Tesla buyer couldn't afford the Tesla they are driving and yet they mortgaged the house, raided the kids' tuition funds, sold the wife's jewelry and bought one.

The question is whether the average Porsche buyer will be willing to do all that and get a Misssion E should we be so lucky if it is made and it costs a mere $180k.

The average Tesla buyer didn't need to mortgage anything, their houses are paid off. And their kids are done with school.

No, what they did was raid their kids inheritance.

But they don't care. Al Gore and the faux-environmentalist, 'global warming' media brainwashing machine have convinced them this is 'an investment in their kids' future'. So they are ALL FOR IT.

In short, these buyers honestly believe it's OK to blow an extra $20k-50k on this gimmicky car because they have justified their purchase as being more beneficial to their beneficiaries than the cash would have been if allowed to grow invested.

Whatever! It's their kids' money. I personally don't believe 'global warming', which started 13,000 years ago, is man-made, so I wouldn't squander 50k on an electric car. But that's just me.

So the question is whether other people (not you) will be willing to "blow extra $100k to $120k" on a Mission E. Whatcha think?
