#IAA: Audi Shows Off Its Next-Gen Interior STYLE And TECHNOLOGY And We Get Up CLOSE And PERSONAL With It
One thing we particularly pride oursevles on here at AutoSpies is trying to catch the details others may be missing out on. And while it's great to see the debut of the all-new Audi e-tron quattro concept, it's even better to get an up close and personal look at it.

Why? Well, that's because this interior is using leading-edge technology. And, in addition, if we were betting men — and we are — we'd say this is a damn good look into the next-generation styling of the four rings' interiors.

Think of this as the first time we're seeing Audi use the instrument panel as a navigation screen. This time, however, the company is bringing the use of ultra thin OLED technology in the car.

Check out how Audi is describing the all-new OLED instrument panel, centrally mounted infotainment display and center stack-mounted screen. It's all pretty harmonious.

An excerpt from Audi's press release follows:

...

Deep integration: The interior
The package of the Audi e-tron quattro concept enables a spacious, comfortable interior for four persons and 615 liters (21.7 cu ft) of luggage. The interior has a light and open feel to it; its architecture melds harmoniously with the operating and display concept. All displays in the interior use OLED technology. The extremely thin films can be cut to any desired shape.

The new Audi virtual cockpit curved OLED is a further development of the Audi virtual cockpit that debuted in production vehicles in 2014. To the left and right below the fully-digital instrument cluster are two touch displays with black glass and a subtle aluminum frame. The driver controls the lights and the systems for piloted driving with the left display. The large display on the right is for media and navigation management. The steering wheel serves as an alternate control level. Its spokes are equipped with contoured touch surfaces.

Below the selector lever on the center tunnel console are two more OLED displays for the drive system status, climate control and freely programmable information functions. The curved displays in the front section of the doors serve as digital exterior mirrors.

The two rear passengers sit on comfortable individual seats. They can use the OLED displays on the center console to configure the climate control and infotainment for their area or to exchange data with the driver. An LTE module connects the Audi e-tron quattro concept with the Internet. The connectivity features in the study are cutting edge.

Gaudy looking. This is Audi trying to be blingy like Mercedes all while keeping their boring look intact.

I recently bought an Audi Q5, so I'm NOT an Audi-basher... and I agree with you :-(

This looks great. Just look at the global sales numbers YTD of Mercedes bling - their growth rate is more than double that of Audi and BMW. In China, Mercedes had a growth rate in excess of 50% last month!

Awful front and a tremendously inconsistent dashboard that reminds me of Civic (on steroids).

It's ok. I think I'm already tired of the stitched leather look surfaces that seem to be the trend now.

If this is the styling direction, both inside and outside, that Audi will be going in, then I doubt I'd be returning to the brand anytime soon.

Way too many angles going all over the place.

Come On GermanNut...I own an Audi S6 and recognize this interior is terrible. This is exactly what happens when ANY auto maker tries so hard to be different. They swing toward the other side of way too much. Too many edges, angles in this concept. Have the nice flowing lines. Nuttie do they pay you to do PR for them. Listen I like my Audi's and BMWs I've owned, but this is not the clean and flowing line dashes. Sorry not a winner here and I won't be buying it either.

Concepts are always a bit extreme but I do like the direction Audi is heading for their interiors. The new Q7 and TT have a very modern and high tech interior.
