#IAA: STUD or DUD — Is The All-New Bentley Bentayga Looking Like A Million Bucks Or More Like The Dollar Store?
The Bentley Bentayga is definitely one of the more intriguing debuts at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). There's good reason for this: the legendary British luxury car maker has never produced a sport-utility vehicle up until this point.
While there's a part of me that says a lot of folks in "the scene" will be sure to pick one up, there's also a bit of hesitation in my belief. Why? Well, there's plenty of other high-end, luxury SUVs. Of course, for now, the Bentayga is the ultimate.

Having said that, we've been dying to ask you what you think of this Bentley's all-new looks. To me, it looks like a Flying Spur and an Audi Q7 got together and this is the end result.
So, what say you, Spies?
Is the all-new Bentley Bentayga a STUD or DUD?

Bentley tried way too hard on this one. Unfortunately, when I look at the side profile, the first thing that comes to mind is a Toyota Venza.

Dollar Store. It looks like what it is: a Q7 with wannabe bentley styling. The face is a played out Bentley cliche. The side is ugly and the tail is bland. Rappers, ballers, and crime lords in Chicago will love it.

looks too much like an old school station wagon than a cool competitor to a range rover. besides the Bentley name, i dont see why anyone would choose this over a fully loaded autobiography ranger rover supercharged.
btw im not into trucks like some people, but when i sat in the range rover at the ny auto show, no joke, i felt like a king. if i won the lottery i think it would be the one to have.

It lacks taste. I think the appeal will be limited to buyers in Russia and the Gulf States.

It looks too much like a Porsche, only worst. The front end is definitely Bentley. But where are all the subtle sexy curves we've all known and love about Bentley? This is going to come down to how it rides, and not its looks, in order for the car to be successful. But I truly believe Bentley does NOT need this SUV!

If you haven't learned in the last decade SUV's are killing the market. I actually think this is very nice. My only complaint is the side headlamps the bleed into the side front fenders.

Front half looks fine. Rear half looks awful.

Bentley missed the mark BIG time with the Bentayga. You don't mistake a Bentley Continental, Flying Spur or Mulsanne for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, Rolls-Royce Ghost or Rolls-Royce Phantom - their closest competitors. It doesn't matter what angle you look at these respective Bentley models from either - nothing about them looks like their competitors.
The Bentayga will EASILY be mistaken for an Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne from the side and rear.
Given the Bentayga's starting price of something in the neighborhood of $175K, this is inexcusable considering the Porsche Cayenne in the U.S. can be had in the $55K-$85K range and so can the Audi Q7.
For a true luxury brand that is supposed to set itself apart from more pedestrian luxury brands - this is a massive mistake.

Front half is tolerable but the rear half is too much cheap wagonish ala Lincoln MKT. They screwed this up... It could have had the classic lines of a range rover and the better visibility a boxier style gives you. I hate swooped crossover rear ends and chopped top style pillar lengths... The recent styling gives window visibility on many cars an F in my grade book.

It's OK. Front's nice. Rear is pretty much a disaster, no matter which part you look at. I mean, people will buy it, butt...
The interior is pretty nice, though--very conservative, but that's to be expected. The quality of the materials, workmanship, and details are nice...I like the door inserts, I think that adds a nice elegant touch.
In all honesty, though, if I had $300K, I wouldn't spend it on this vehicle.

Range Rover looks much better. But I'm sure rich people will gobble these up because they are "prestigious"
