#IAA: BEST Real-Life Pics Of The 2016 Audi A4's INTERIOR — DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS
It's not much of a mystery at this point. One of the BIG reasons why the current-gen Audi A4 started losing out to the likes of the competition was due to its rather stale and dated interior. It's not that it was overtly bad, it's just that with the incoming bomb that debuted in form of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the current-gen A4 was obsoleted.

The four rings isn't going to take that sitting down, though. Audi has always been known as the go-to company if you want the class-leading interior. Now, more than ever, it has to take back the crown.

With the 2016 Audi A4, it's clear that the company is reemphasizing its interior design. Taking some creative license from its all-new Q7 sport-utility vehicle, you may notice there are some similarities.

Note the chunky steering wheel, sweeping dash with that huge integrated HVAC vent, and its very slick instrument panel.

When I glimpsed at these pictures for the first time I actually thought it was the Q7. I had to look quite a bit closer and then I realized the err of my ways.

Having said that, scope out these great shots of the A4's all-new interior. Let us know what you think!

LOOKS OK...BUT WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE DIESEL?! OHHH...THEY CHEATED ON THEIR WORLDWIDE EMISSION TEST.

James, chill out and stay on topic. There's plenty of diesel threads to make your point known.

Keep trolling every thread and you're going to be banned fairly quick.

NOW I KNOW WHY VW AND AUDI DRIVERS ALWAYS SPEED! TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM AN EMISSION TEST AND THE REPO MAN.

Nothing unpredictable, but looks very nice. I wonder if they'll wise up and bring the Avant back to replace that failure of a Allroad.

It's nicely finished, but pretty uninspired. The aluminum finishes look like the BMW M-package trim. The iPad straight out of a Benz. I think the 2016 Mazda 6 does it better, to be truthful. Now, it is better than anything else in the class, but the C-Class is still better.

Having been in the Mazda 6 I can't disagree with you more. The 6's interior is quite cheap feeling.

Not to mention the 6's U/I is incomprehensible and makes MMI even seem simple.

Yes, I agree with you on material quality between the A4 and 6, but I would expect that due to the different price points. Where I feel the 6 is better is in design and execution. Can't speak for information/navigation function as I haven't tried the 6. I can say the MMI in my 2012 Audi was a good system.

Seat headrests are horrendous. Dashboard is nice. But only God knows what other surprises you are on for with Audi

For some reason headrests, in general, have been getting quite clunky looking. Gone are the days of the BMW 7-Series (E38) with slick looking headrests.

How much larger will steering wheel rims grow?
