It's not much of a mystery at this point. One of the BIG reasons why the current-gen Audi A4 started losing out to the likes of the competition was due to its rather stale and dated interior. It's not that it was overtly bad, it's just that with the incoming bomb that debuted in form of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the current-gen A4 was obsoleted.
The four rings isn't going to take that sitting down, though. Audi has always been known as the go-to company if you want the class-leading interior. Now, more than ever, it has to take back the crown.
2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA)With the 2016 Audi A4, it's clear that the company is reemphasizing its interior design. Taking some creative license from its all-new Q7 sport-utility vehicle, you may notice there are some similarities.
Note the chunky steering wheel, sweeping dash with that huge integrated HVAC vent, and its very slick instrument panel.
When I glimpsed at these pictures for the first time I actually thought it was the Q7. I had to look quite a bit closer and then I realized the err of my ways.
