Spy Shots - Pre-Planned & Deliberate?

Sometimes, as I sit in front of my computer browsing the sea of SPY NEWS & SPY SHOTS, flashing across my monitor of upcoming automobiles, I just cant help to think & wonder... "It just cant be a coincedance that these spy shots are so good and abundant". I am shortly soon answered by another voice in the back of my head that slaps me in the wrist whilst saying "Ofcourse it's not a coincedance, these spy shots were deliberately released by the Auto Manufacturers themselves in order to TEASE the buyers market and keep them at bay as they wait for their next release"

So is it all an act? You may all have seen videos of test drivers taking pictures of the "spy" taking the shots. Could it be that the tester is just going through the movements to keep all of this believable? I would think that companies like, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW etc would have their own private test tracks that we dont even know about, possibly even indoor facility that could fully replicate real world temperature situations, as well as obsticles etc.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I am slowly starting to question all of it.

Then again... who cares!

Keeping interest on a product is good business. So for people like us will spread it all over the internet, with guess: free publicity. Now how much do automakers indulge in this practice is a mystery, as we can only guess.

Mercedes is pretty good too... they've made the new C look like a tank.

BMW? Not so much. Upcoming 7 Series, X5 weren't very well hided. Same with new 3 Coupe. By the way- new 335s are at dealers. Saw three in the lot today!

You are right. mercedes is pretty good with that. Just take todays Smart preview, where they showed us a dozen pictures of the new smart car, but all of them are so focused and so close to the car that you can really make out anything. So who would be so brave enough to take out their camera and start taking pictures of the new smart in the top secret location. Mercedes of course. Don't really have anything against that, Wouldn't it be boring to not have spy shots and just suddenly see the car appear on the road, that would be very borring.

Seems to me a lot are leaked. just look at what happened right before the new Tahoe came out. Pictures got out right before the release from GM. Made people start looking more. Same with the new GM trucks. Spy photos hit and a couple of weeks later they were showing the truck..
