EXPOSED! Fiat's 124 Spider Caught In The Flesh - Will This Slick Little Sports Car Engage The Distracted Millennials?
Good news for Italian sports car fans on a budget: Fiat's stylish little 124 Spider has been seen in public with no disguise ahead of its 2016 reveal. The Mazda MX-5-based 124 was confirmed by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne earlier this year, after our exclusive story revealed the firm's plans.

This is  the first time we've spotted the 124 Spider without any cladding, and although the images are blurry the design direction is clear to see. The most noticeable feature is the front-end, with a significantly longer bonnet than the fourth-gen Mazda MX-5 its based on. With similar proportions to a BMW Z4, the 124 gets a jutting jawline and caved in headlamps, while at the side you can see the MX-5 underneath in the doors.

Hint: Millennials aren't big on sports cars. Or any cars, actually. They'd rather be texting friends on their iPhone.

The only way to for Fiat to remotely engage this group of numbskulls is to supply all Über drivers with 124 Spiders and have them post random pics to Instagram.

Actually the millennials are not what you called them - they are generally highly educated - and have chosen to live near public transportation (OFten even if rents are much higher) to avoid the Traffic and Loss of Time of using cars for commuting. So - a sports car - with its inherent trade offs of space and use is not what they are likely to want. Since they view cars simply as transportation - not glamour - there are lots of other alternatives that are more to their liking. And Living in metro areas - often in center cities - creates a parking situation as well - so they are just as likley not to purchase - but to either rent or use public transport. There are LOTS of vacation options which do not require a person's own car too.

I wish there were better front end pics. But from what I can see, I like it.

Instead of a lighter convertible version they should build a 124 Sport Coupe. That I would buy.
