Audi Enters The Storm With A 16.3% Gain In September Sales - Will Next Month Fare As Well?
Audi achieved its best-ever September sales in the U.S. to mark its 57th consecutive monthly sales record. The previous September record was set in 2014 with 14,917 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first nine months of 2015, Audi U.S. sales rose 12.5% from last year to 147,403 vehicles.

Third-quarter U.S. sales for Audi rose 15.3% from last year, with the Audi SUV models posting a 50.0% increase and Audi A3 models posting a 30.8% increase.

September results were bolstered by sales of Audi luxury SUVs, with a 44.3% increase for the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 models combined. The Q5 posted a 58.9% increase from last year, marking its best-ever sales month in the U.S. The Q7 posted a 42.2% increase from last September, and the Q3 posted a 3.5% increase over last year.

“As we head into the fourth quarter, we are confident that our sales momentum across the Audi product lineup will result in a strong finish to the year,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “Throughout local communities across America, we are grateful that our Audi retailers continue to deliver our stunning vehicles at record levels to customers and their service is clearly leading to customer loyalty that is quickly becoming the envy of the industry.”

In just its second month in the market, the all-new Audi TT posted a 345.2% sales increase from last year.

The A3 model line achieved robust sales in September 2015. The compact premium models achieved a 15.9% increase over year-earlier sales. The Audi A6 and A7 models also performed well, with year-over-year increases of 13.4% and 6.5%, respectively.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle sales set a new September record, with a 1.5% gain on 3,923 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales year-to-date have increased 6.4%.

Audi holds the longest running monthly record sales streak in the premium car market according to a competitive sales report from MotorIntelligence.com.

Audi has been bragging with the "each month we beat our old sales record" (paraphrased by me) story. I'm wondering how Dieselgate will affect this.

I would bet the average consumer doesn't even know VW owns Audi....

It is true, most don't know that VW bought what is now Audi from Mercedes in 1966. I suspect that since Audi is going to independently announce their diesel-gate related vehicle listing, they will not realize record sales in October...

Most buyers don't know Audi is owned by Volkswagen and even if they did this scandal is going to have a much larger effect on Volkswagen than Audi.

Have to disagree. Audi owners know (and usually don't want to admit) about their relationship with VW thus they are going to think twice when that lease is up before getting another Audi.

This is all short-term discussion anyway because once Audi launches its next-generation A8 that will be first and foremost designed differently than the current model and other higher-end Audi sedans like the A7 and A6 and loaded with technology, and once the A8's themes trickle down to the next A7 and A6 - the competition will be facing a rude awakening.
