Next Gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Interior Caught In The Buff - Will The Competition Be Scrambling To Catch Up?
Thanks to the folks over at Paultan.org, we now have our first ever view of what the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will look like on the inside. Seen for the first time completely uncovered, this interior shows that the German automaker is finally throwing out its old idea of mounting a computer tablet above the dashboard for navigation and other entertainment. Among other changes, these shots reveal a more streamlined dash and plenty of creature comforts. Less excessive than its older brother, the S-Class, but close enough.

It won't send anyone scrambling as its seem more a refinement of the current design approach. Nothing revolutionary, which is fine by me. MB is currently my favorite German automaker.

I like it. It's a great blend of the C and S class interiors. This one may actually be my favorite, depending on what the rest looks like.

The creator of its own segment (think of the 110s & 121s from the 60s) I am sure the new car won't disappoint. BMW in the meantime is coming out with a new 5 so we'll see.

Not a fan of how the gauge cluster and Nav screen blend, but the rest looks good.

Mercedes has already sent the competition scrambling to catch up when they introduced the new S and C class with all the great new tech and high quality materials and is integrating these items and features into the next gen E-class coming out soon.

Looks okay, but not something that would incite me to write inspirational songs about it.

I am not to sure about this interior, I will need to see it in person but as of now, I still like the AUDI's interiors better. Especially the A7s. BTW I drive an MB;)

Is someone writing this article getting paid by MB. My wife drives a MB and loves the interior. However, lets get honest about this ugly interior. This "drive-in" movie big screen dash just ain't cuttin it for me. Like the huge S-Class LOOOOOOONG dash with the Buick steering wheel, this interior may be posh, but the LAYOUT of the dash itself is doesn't inspire me. Give me the cockpit that surrounds someone.

Am not a big fan of dashboards that are OBVIOUSLY put together to make changing from right hand to left hand driver easy. The Gauges under the top look like they are added on - not part of the dash.

And the Chrysler derived steering wheels are getting more common to all manufacturers - but I first saw them on K-car coupes decades ago.

A lot to me will depend on the size of the interior - now that the C-class is bigger inside - I am hoping that Mercedes moves up the space to compete in the AMerican Mid-size category - which is bigger than the European one. Since it will have to move up in price based on the C as well - it better be bigger.

Is the top half of the dash finished?? Looks like a panel around the speedo/tach was left off. Maybe visual integration isn't important anymore. Just sayin ...

It's nothing special. Not attractive, nor unattractive. Totally devoid of inspiration. If someone told you this was a Kia Optima interior, you'd believe it.
