First REAL LIFE Shots Of The 2016 BMW 3-Series Break Out From South Of The Border!
If you have never been to northern Mexico you are missing a rugged desert landscape with a stunning  vistas and rich with local culture.  You also might notice a seedy character or two, but if you pack a small battalion of security guards then chances are on your side that everything will go smoothly. But why on earth would you go here?

You my friend may do like we did and go to the ends of the earth to showcase the 2016 BMW X3 and X1.  Of course our 6 foot 5 inch Agent001 was there to cover the event, put more than  a few miles on the cars and use his towering vantage point to keep a lookout for the stray rattlesnake or two that dared to cross anyone’s path.

Since I wanted let you be the first to see the 2016 3-Series in the flesh,  I will pass on a few driving details for now and let 001 bring you up to speed a bit later. But we CAN tell you that the 2016 3-Series is up on power from the 2015 model, sports redesigned steering and front suspension to increase road feel, and hosts a slew of new color combinations.

The word on the street (remember you heard it here first) is that the new M-Sport will be the one to get unless you need to drop some serious cash on a M3 or M4.

What is with everyone going to screens that either pop up out of the dash or look like they were tacked on afterwards? There was nothing wrong with the way BMW did it before, with the 2nd raised area of the dash and the screen embedded. Audi does it well, although I think they're going this way as well.

Years ago I was looking at a Volvo, and the biggest thing that annoyed me was the screen rising out of the dash.

I went from a car with the screen incorporated into the dash to a 4 Series which has the same screen as the 3. It's really no different. I think BMW does it a bit better than the Benz CLA/C or the new A4 (and I don't believe the new A4's screen is retractable).

I would imagine it's for access purposes, primarily, but I could be wrong. If a screen needs to be replaced or fixed, it's my understanding that when they are embedded into the dashboard, it's quite the task to access it. Whereas with the screens a bit more exposed, it might be easier.

Well - it looks just like a BMW 3 Series of the last decade or so - not much that different. Just as the New Camaro looks almost exactly like the one it replaces - stylers are getting paid to make the cars look the same - and wile that is not bad - it is also not good either.

As far as the Dash - its Gauge cluster looks alot like my Chrysler Mini-Van -and I do not understand the Pop-up screen - Why?I mean - you get a better view over the Dash when the car is off - but who buys a BMW for the view over the Dash when the car is off?

the screen pop up will just cost the sucker more money to fix later. Dealers gotta make money some how...

I like the front end better, but the change is so subtle that most BMW owners won't it.

As for the pop up screen, I don't give a crap.
