EPA, IRS, And FCC Not Enough: Now FTC Investigates VW For False Advertising Of "Clean Diesels"

Volkswagen AG is under investigation by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for advertising claims for cars that were marketed as “clean diesels,” but were actually rigged to pass pollution tests.

Justin Cole, a spokesman for the agency, said the FTC is coordinating with the Justice Department and the Environmental Protection Agency, which opened their own formal investigations into the carmaker last month.

Making death traps killing hundreds and injuring thousands. Yet, NO EXEC will go to prison.

Using taxpayers money to pay death/inj claims. Only paid back pennies on dollar.

False advertisement ..."MADE IN USA"...BUT REALLY MADE IN LATIN AMERICAN, CENTRAL/SOUTH AMERICA, CANADA.....NOT USA! MAYBE GM EXEC THINK AFRICA/EUROPE/ASIA IS AMERICA ALSO....FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

Really - did you get a video of those black clouds? What type of Truck was it - and how old too?

I see you are still not addressing the real problem with cars - that SPEED kills. They can make a system that can limit cars to the posted speed limits - and that would save thousands of lives - I see no effort on your part to enforce that!

Sorry - but GM did pay back the US - with stock - in the New Company. THat the US Government held the stock too long was not their call - but the statement that they paid back pennies on the Dollar is a complete LIE. ANd it was BUSH who initiated the bail-out - as I noted before Obama was even inaugurated.

GM does not advertise "made in AMerica" - but GM is one of TWO major AutoMakers that is an American Company that pays taxes in the USA. (TEsla has yet to make a profit to pay taxes on ) The other is Ford. Chrysler is a European company. If you have an actual example of a vehicle that GM advertises as Made in America that is not - by all means - post that verifiable information here - otherwise - you have no credibility

Yes, Bush did originally thru some chump change to GM- but obama gave GM the taxpayers bank. And yes, it was the US gov't who cash in early...why..what politics was behind closed doors when they decided to do this..Obama and GM only knows.

But did GM really payback taxpayers w/ company profits....HELL NO! They had TARP money given to them earlier in a escrow account that was used to pay us back (taxpayers). How nice...taxpayers paying ourselves back with our own money!

Last 2014 OMB report states we lost approx $15,000,000,000.00 in the bailout. Not much compared to the US trillions in debt! but it is still $15,000,000,000.00 not including interest and fees. This money could have been used for other public needs. GM then uses $900,000,000.00 (millions) to pay for ignition fines...hmmm...where did this money come from! SO, WE TAXPAYERS PAID FOR THEIR IGNITION FINE..SINCE THEY DID'T HAVE TO PAY BACK $15,000,000,000.00 (BILLIONS). Thanks Obama/UAW/GM...for putting the screws in the taxpayers back.

GM also knew about this ignition switch for at least a decade...but fail to do anything about this. They even argued that thru the bankruptcy process..no one can sue GM...that was the OLD GM..and now its a new GM! LOL..LOL... Yet NO GM exec has gone to prison. NO ONE. They then appoint a WOMAN to be CEO...so when she is front of congress...NO MALE congressman will dare make himself look like a pig if they question her to aggressively. Nice strategy GM.

GM/Obama by now is the biggest polluting , welfare, and criminal organization in corporate history. Getting away from REALLY PAYING BACK DEBT TO TAXPAYERS, KILLING INNOCENT AMERICANS AND OTHERS AROUND THE WORLD..AND GETTING AWAY FREE.

GM within the last decade has spent more money building plants in ASIA, S. America, Africa, etc..the in the USA! AND THEY ARE PUTTING THE SCREWS TO UAW... NICE!
