Volvo S90 Interior Uncovered - Will This Sway You From That 5-Series You Are Considering?

As testing of the upcoming BMW 5-Series rivalling Volvo S90 continues, the very first spy shots of the vehicle’s interior have emerged online. Unsurprisingly, they show a cabin outfitted with a range of digital displays giving the car a fresh and modern look and feel.

Some of the key elements found in the car’s cabin is the prominent vertical touchscreen as well as the fully digital gauge cluster. The images also reveal that the S90’s dashboard is placed quite low in the car’s interior.

There's modern, then there's boring, then there's modern boring. This is modern boring. It seemed to work with the XC90, but not here.

I like clean, but this is ridiculous. We have one long screen in the center and no knobs or buttons. That says everything is either entered into this touch screen and/or the steering wheel has plenty of buttons.

I don't think this even comes close to the new XC90 interior. What the heck is this crap??

I'm not a fan of having to use a screen to do what a knob could do in a fraction of the time. We need autonomous cars because it takes so damn long to turn on the air conditioner or change the music that we have no time ti keep our eyes on the road.

I felt the same way about the U-connect in my Chrysler MiniVan - but it has turned out to be a lot less of an issue. The car has a way to control radio volume on the Steering wheel - which is just as good or better than a know (WHich it also has for volume) - and I can change stations from the wheel as well. OR - I can change stations VERBALLY and that control is also on the steering wheel so I find myself using the screen far less than ever before - and keeping my eyes on the road. My problem with the Volvo is price - they are getting too close to Top Premium territory - with only a 4 cylinder. They really do not compete well with the Germans - and I always thought volvo was a middle premium car like Buick, Saab, Chrysler, and not evenup to Audi, Lexus and Infiniti - which still do not equate with Mercedes or BMW.
