In terms of exterior, Kia did the smart thing and didn't stray from its proven them, unlike how the Sonata went from a stylistic statement to anonymity.

The interior of the Optima is a big letdown. It went from being a perfect blend of Audi and Saab and befitting of a "sporty" car, to one that has lost all character.

Can't stand chrome strip extending down the C pilliar. It's the like the one that goes from the A pillar to the headlight on the Sonata. They did this to be different, but it is not executing well.

Seeing a lot of borrowed design cues. Front headlight shape is all Camry, front 3/4 reminds of Avalon. Interior center stack looks a lot like Mazda 6. Seats seem similar to new Maxima.
