The Line Starts Where? Teaser Hints At Possible Lexus LS Successor For Tokyo Motor Show

The 2015 Tokyo Motor Show is just around the corner, and among the variety of wild and wacky concepts Lexus will be showing a preview design for a new model. Teased in this sneaky close-up of a head light, it could show what to expect from the new LS.

While there's very little else given away by the new image, the headlamp design is very similar to that of the newly facelifted GS. The Japanese firm claims the concept will "capture the company's vision of progressive luxury" but doesn't add any more detail than that.

Sorry - but an interesting headlight is not going to divert you from that ghastly cow catcher grill they have. This is the one area - the actual Luxury car - that Lexus competes poorly in. GM is also coming out with a new Buick LaCrosse - which is the competition and it is far less expensive.

I think a lot of folks have already forgotten that Lexus wants to be a Tier 1 luxury brand. The success of cars like the ES, NX and RX are from step-up customers from Toyota. But, when it comes time for those customers to upgrade, they're not flocking to Lexus products and I suspect that Lexus has few conquest sales at the higher end of their product range.
