VIDEO: We Have A REV OFF! WHICH Sounds Better To Your Ears? Ferrari 458 Speciale vs. All-New 488 GTB
When Ferrari introduced a turbocharged V8 in the all-new California T, the purists were a bit scared. Rightfully so. I mean, who would want a Ferrari with dumbed down sound? That's one of these vehicle's major selling points. The emotion.

But you didn't think Ferrari would abandon that, did you? Having just driven the California T, I can confidently say that there is nothing to worry about in the sound department. It's not dumbed down nor is it muted — it is different though.

Is that a GOOD or a BAD thing? Only one way to judge properly.

At a recenter auto event some smart folks put together both the all-new Ferrari 488 GTB and 458 Speciale side-by-side for a back-and-forth comparison. So, sit back, relax and dial up the volume.

Note: The 458 does have a Novice exhaust — kind of cheating. ;)

WHICH Ferrari sounds better to YOUR ears? The 488 or the 458?

Ever wonderered how much different is 488 sound from previous 458? Now you can compare it in this video I have filmed this weekend on SlovakiaRing during TestDrive Event. As you can read in the title, the 458 is Speciale and it has custom exhaust by Novitec. But still, do you like that sound which new 488 GTB makes?

These are very low volume high priced vehicles. There are only a few places on earth where it is remotely likely that you will encounter both side by side.

I really don't think a person who has spent the money for either will care - nor do I think they will care what those who cannot afford a $250,000 car think. If agent00R has the money to do more than just dream about owning these cars - more power to him. Personally - I would have a real hard time getting my torso into either one - and even a worse time trying to exit one. I already once owned my all time favorite car - a 450SEL 6.9 - and my current S-600 is no slouch either. But I have long ago retired the need to impress other people with my ride. And as a very Tall person - I prefer ones I can actually drive comfortably.
