TOKYO MOTOR SHOW: REVEALED! Is This The All-New Lexus LS Seen For The FIRST Time?

TOKYO MOTOR SHOW: REVEALED! Is This The All-New Lexus LS Seen For The FIRST Time?
If there's one thing that I've learned in my time covering the automotive sector, it's do not sleep on Toyoto Motor Sales (TMS). This is one company that may have seemed sleepy for quite some time, but it's now pissed off and showing how ferocious this giant can be.

So for what feels like eons we've been waiting for an all-new Lexus LS. With the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series, an all-new LS is needed more now than ever.

Given the direction of the company we've been wondering which side of the schism it would take: would the all-new LS be a proper hybrid or electric vehicle, OR would Lexus go the super aggressive/sporting route.

I think we may have gotten our answer in the wee hours of this a.m.

We found what appears to be a rendering of the all-new LS from a magazine and there's no question that it is very, very aggressive. As of now we do not know if this is an official image of the LS or merely an artist's interpretation.

Having said that, IF this is the REAL DEAL would you give it two thumbs UP or DOWN?

I hope to God that isn't the new LS. Thankfully it looks like someone's interpretation rather than the real thing. However, if that's accurate, it's a thumbs down.

A true Luxury Sedan - and the LS is the only one Lexus makes - is an example of understated elegance that is timeless- not snooted nonsense that will rapidly age. This is an example of a magazine artists wet dream - based on the current direction of the Lexus nose. It is horrendous

Thumbs down

IF this is really how the new LS will look it if anything will certainly be one of the ugliest luxury sedan on the market and continue to trail by far the S-Class, 7-Series and Audi. That front end design is the biggest negative factor of what hideous, desperate, way over done, cow catching, predator Lexus is doing right now. This design may even really scare away all the old people who are the potential customers for this car.

If Hyundai gets the next Equus right and markets it effectively, they could easily siphon off some Lexus sales. The Genesis is already a great reason not to buy a GS.

I can't disagree with all of you more.

You'd better lock your door, they're coming for you with the straight jacket.... I hope this is the new LS, its hideous which means better sales for designs. If you're building a luxury car why not make it gorgeous? These Lexus designs are positively baffling... and hideous.

Looks like a dropped Asian Chrysler 300 with Lexus's horrible front

Asian brands (yes I generalize)...and Lincoln...have the worst track record in terms of teasing with images/concept vehicles that never get built. This only makes the production units appear worse than they actually are because these brands get everybody excited only to be left with a lackluster design but worse...the knowledge that the talent exists to dream something up...just not the commitment to build it. It would be better to have no trumped up (lol...just realized the irony there) images or concepts at all.

It does look good....as an ES or GS replacement, or even a CLS/A7/6GC competitor. Not as a flagship LS. It looks like a 300C and IS had a big baby.

The new S class is supremely ugly, actually, all the current MB cars have the same droopy butts and cheap headlights. They look like they were designed by a Korean fired from Hyundai.

Koreans are tripping over themselves to hire Germans and MB is hiring Koreans.

The Korean cars' designer is a German. What an idiotic comment.

it seems too interesting to be an actual lexus which are usually boring--however the new rx looks mildly interesting (for the first time every) so i will be cautiously optimistic...
