Volkswagen Issues Stop Sale On 100,000 3.0 Liter Diesel Vehicles Labeled As Cheaters
Volkswagen of America said it has issued a stop-sale for more than 10,000 Audi, Porsche and VW SUVs and high-end cars with 3.0-liter diesel engines labeled by federal regulators as having "defeat devices" dating back to 2013.

The stop-sale includes more vehicles than identified by EPA on Monday, which only labeled the specific model years of three vehicles they had tested as violating emissions rules by allowing the vehicles to emit up to nine times legally allowable levels.

VW in Germany also has announced new problems with carbon dioxide emissions and miles per gallon ratings on 800,000 vehicles and said the costs of that issue could be $2.2 billion. VW stock fell 10 percent on the news Wednesday. It's not clear if any of those vehicles are in the United States, but U.S. VW officials don't believe so.

The other shoe to drop here is when some of VW's gas engines start showing up on the "emissions cheat" list.

I don't know how its possible that the stunningly powerful VW engines - which power Bentley's (6.7L V8 in Mulsanne and W12 in the Continental), Lamborghini's (V12 and V10), Audi "S" series - the souped up 4.0L V8 that makes 550 horsepower, and last but not least the Bugatti W16 Multi-Turbo that makes 1,100 horsepower - can actually be emissions compliant and achieve the stated claims of fuel consumption, without reverting to "cheat" software also.

If something sounds "too good to be true", it usually is!

A powerful few who felt superior to every else perpetrated mass deceit.

The Germans seem to have an issue with this.
