Which Is The Best Premium Brand On The Market And Why?

'Premium' is a hard thing to quantify but whatever it is, car brands want it. Any brand that achieves premium status in the eyes of the public instantly gains the right to charge more money for its products than mainstream rivals but getting to premium nirvana is a long and difficult road.

That hasn't stopped brands like Citroen, Ford and now Hyundai from setting out on the journey. Their respective DS, Vignale and Genesis sub-brands have all been launched in recent years with the express aim of breaking into what's referred to as the premium end of the car market.

"Best" in which way? We can supply hard numbers on...
- Quickest at 0-60 mph
- Quickest quarter mile
- Fastest top speed
- Shortest 60-0 mph distance
- Most horsepower (as specified by the manufacturer)
- Most internal volume
- Highest EPA fuel economy numbers (highway, or city, or combined?)
etc.

But know that nobody is the best in all measures, as this physical world is comprised of trade-offs.

Perhaps you meant "What is your FAVORITE premium brand and why?" That's an entirely different matter.

Nice, I have to go with Benz though, the fact that Mercedes makes vehicles starting in the $20ks to well over $200ks and happens to lead or take 2nd on both spectrums in terms of sales is astonishing.

It's like having a McDonalds assistant manager along with the CEO in the same showroom catering to both.

By far: TVR. The 2017 production is sold out, sight unseen, and performance unknown. Brilliant.

@Terry989 clearly you're too unintelligent to understand the sarcasm of a posed absurdity. Don't worry though. People with you utter lack of brains can still have jobs greeting people at WalMart.

NO ONE HAS GOTTEN IT CORRECT.

BENZ, LEXUS, ASTON MARTIN, PORSCHE, TOYOTA.

ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST STUPID!

I'd have to say Porsche, from the perspective that they've never strayed from their core values. Every vehicle is a Porsche, regardless of doors or ride height. If they'd just make an E Class size vehicle, I could get the CPA/Wife to accept the "practicality" of it... Aston, Rolls, Bentley, Caddy, Lincoln, Mercedes, BMW, Audi.. they've all strayed at one time and produced ehh, cars. Some might throw in the 914 and the 924 but those have cult followings for true believers...

I agree with who is in the Top 11, but not necessarily the order. After the first 11, I would hesitate to put any of them in the true "premium" category.
