Trying To Look Cool? Kendall Jenner Turns 20 And Treats Herself With A 57 Corvette

Kendall Jenner probably knows about the first Corvette about as much as most petrolheads know about the emerging fashion movement that has been called “Social Media Modelling”. The difference is that the reality television star and recently turned 20-years-old fashion model can afford just about any car she wants, apparently.

Similar to her younger sister, Kylie, Kendall is also known for posting celebrity selfies and career updates to her followers on social media - all 40.5 million of them. Yet, it appears she missed the most remarkable thing she could get her hands on - a 1957 Corvette C1. It's curious to me that we richly reward music stars, movie stars, television personalities, professional athletes, fashion models, etc., but people that put their life on the line for us (such as soldiers, police officers, firefighters) and people who have some of the greatest influence in shaping the minds of our citizens (teachers) make a modest living.

A 20-year-old fashion model buys a '57 'Vette as a cool you, while a 50-year-old teacher is trying to make their 15-year-old Toyota last another season.

Having one daughter who's a high school teacher with a masters degree and another working on her doctorate, I agree that teachers are vastly underpaid. While there are certainly some stinkers in the bunch (isn't there some in everything?), the vast majority of them want to do their best in instructing the next generation.
