VW To Offer $1000 In Gift Cards To Diesel Owners Affected By Scandal
Volkswagen, in an effort to appease owners of small diesel-powered cars involved in an emissions cheating scandal, plans to offer them $1,000 in gift cards and vouchers, according to a dealer familiar with the plans.

The offers would be a gesture of goodwill to 482,000 owners of cars whose 2-liter four-cylinder diesel engines have been implicated in the growing scandal, according to the dealer. The offer could be announced to dealers on Monday and made public later in the day.

A spokesman at VW’s U.S. headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, wouldn’t comment Monday.

That's great since every dealer I know taking one on trade is hitting them $2,000 - $4,000 back. Most dealer won't buy them at all.

A "My Treat" Visa Card? Are you kidding me? VW shafts their buyers by causing massive devaluation of diesel cars along with decreasing performance in those that are fixed, and all they can offer is a $1,000 My Treat Gift Card? Absurd. May the lawsuits flourish ...

And how about also donating to a good environmental/healthy cause? Those of us lucky enough to not be driving VWs and Audis wound up like those second-hand smokers

VW is spending $482 million to try to fend off billions in law suits. If you own one of these cars take the $1,000 card, sign nothing, do not sell your car and join a class action law suit. I estimate each owner due $5,000 to $15,000 in a class action suit.

I cannot begin to measure my glee over VWs issues. Instant karma's gonna get you, knock you right in the face. They are predatory to customers and dealers. I am glad I have no ties with them!
