Really? "Good Samaritan"? You mean the a-hole that caused this family the unpleasant and unnecessary experience of having cops approach them in their own driveway?

"Sees child stuffed into trunk"? You mean gently lowered and buckled into his rear facing child safety seat?

Actually, I think it was another writer's headline, but anyhoo...

Innocent mistake by a normal/average person who is not familiar with those rear "jump seats". I think the point is that somebody saw something potentially threatening, reported it, & law enforcement responded to get a better idea of the situation. Cool.

To be honest, I remember seeing older E-class wagons with those jump seats & thinking how cool the view would be. Never saw that type of seating in a sedan before so...the raised concern was reasonable.

Love it - great post! What a biting commentary on where America is today.

I'll note that my kids would never go back there in the trunk of a Tesla (seats or not) with their little faces mere inches from the hatch glass.

What kind of parent would ever put their kids back there? In a rear end collision (or in a rare case where "TESLA AUTO PILOT" has failed and the vehicle crashes) those kids are toast. What a stupid feature.

The person who called could obviously get the license plate so the should have been able to see the car seats or at least the parent strapping the child in.
