Germany Meets With Automakers After Suspicious NOx Levels Found With Other Brands Diesel Models
Germany's diesel pollution probe in the wake of the Volkswagen cheating scandal has found signs of elevated emissions in some cars, authorities said.

Regulators and carmakers are in talks about "partly elevated levels of nitrogen oxides" found in raw data from some of the cars in the probe, the Germany's motor transport authority (KBA) said.

The KBA said it is running tests on more than 50 car models of 23 German and foreign auto brands on suspicion of manipulation of NOx emissions from diesel engines.

The KBA is about two-thirds finished with the tests. The authority didn't provide a time frame for the final results from its review, which includes cars from Volkswagen Group's Audi, VW and Porsche brands, as well as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot and others.

AnimeJapan: Read the article. German authorities are testing real-world emissions of dozens of brands *including* non-German makes. Honda was specifically named as one of the brands being tested. So far, reports indicate that German authorities have discovered emission "irregularities" in brands other than VW, though they have not identified specific brands and models yet.

Sorry - but Toyota and Honda have already recalled cars in the past for emissions failures - or defects that caused such.

I have said in the past that manufacturers buy competition cars regularly, to compare them to their offerings - and I would suspect that most manufacturers who sold diesel cars in Europe bought the "clean diesel"cars to find out how VW was able to meet the standards when it should not have been possible. AND thereby - I believe that most manufacturers knew about the software cheat long ago.

Real World testing is not statistically accurate.
