Audi Steals A Page From Tesla With R8 e-tron Ludicrous Mode

The gloves are off in the electric vehicle war, with Audi claiming it is working on technology that will offer customers faster acceleration times than Tesla’s truly ridiculous Ludicrous Mode.

Packing a 0-100km/h acceleration punch of just 3.0-seconds, Tesla’s Model S and Model X vehicles equipped with Ludicrous Mode offer the fastest acceleration times on the market for their respective classes.

With Audi signalling its full intention to proceed with electric vehicle technology with the e-tron quattro concept and R8 e-tron, amongst others, the future looks bright for consumers.

Which apparently is why Toyota has a far higher rate of recalls since 1985 than GM - in the USA. Toyota has recalled 80% of its cars during that time - while GM has recalled about 65% of theirs.

Toyota HAD the highest reliability when they sold 4cylinder little tiny cars with manual transmissions - crank windows - and little to go wrong. Interestingly - when AMerican producers made 6cylinder cars with Manual transmissions and crank windows - they led in reliability too.

Today Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Kia all are better than Toyota too.
