UAW And German Union Join Forces - UAW Pressures For Higher Wages For US Workers Of German Companies
Germany's IG Metall union and the United Auto Workers union have joined forces to push for improved wages and working conditions at the U.S. plants of German automakers and suppliers.

The new project, dubbed the Transnational Partnership Initiative, will also advocate for German-style works councils or similar arrangements in the U.S. where plant workers and management make decisions about working conditions, shifts, wages and other workplace issues, according to a UAW statement.

“The unions believe some German manufacturers are exploiting low-wage environments in the U.S. South, where working conditions -- including health and safety situations -- tend to be challenging for employees,” the UAW said in its statement.

Possibly they should look into the "Buggy whip" industry too. Tactics like this will only last until its completely over... so short sighted and with complete disregard for the employees. (won't use Marxist words like "workers")

Does the UAW not get that VW may very well close Chattanooga and run like hell?

Gotta love the Gestapo tactics.

"Right to work" is the answer!

Is it me, or does it seem like the UAW is in the news for the same thing -higher pay- every year. I'd like to see a chronology of the negotiations they've gotten into in the past 10 years. You want them to exploit low-wage environments in the U.S. dum-dums, low-wage being a relative term.

If a UAW single earner or husband and wife team making $27/hr ST each can't figure life out, we're all fk'd.

If you're a single earner at $27/hr for your family you need to tell your spouse to get off his/her ass and get to work. The days of single income families living the Norman Rockwell dream have been over for DECADES.
