Production Genesis G90 Caught Roaming The Streets With No Camouflage

Production Genesis G90 Caught Roaming The Streets With No Camouflage

We are still a few weeks away from the official release of the Genesis EQ900, but the new luxury sedan, which will be the first under Hyundai’s new Genesis sub-brand, has now been spotted by ForoCoaches user “Sr_Blublu” with no camouflage hiding the design.

The EQ900, which will be called the Genesis G90 in overseas markets, was first shown off in sketch form earlier this month.

Pretty unimpressive, really.

My brother-in-law's dad will want one. He traded a 10 yr old S class in on an Equus when they came out and he loves it. He decided to gamble when his son went from an E Class to a Genesis R Spec on a whim.

I cannot wait to drive this.

Given how terrible XJ and A8 sales are and how stand-still boring the 7 Series is, if marketed aggressively, the G90 has real potential.

Looks okay but bet it won't drive half as nice as a Cadillac CT6.

The CT6 will drive like an expanded CTS which it what it is. Dynamically the Genesis gives up nothing to the CTS.

The Genesis is vastly inferior to the CTS dynamically. Read any professional opinion or better yet, take one out for a test drive. It will take you two minutes to notice the difference.

The CT6 is not an expanded CTS - it is on an entirely new and different platform. However - the Genesis is far behind the CTS right now - if you can ignore the lack of room in the CTS.

Comparing an Equus to a 10 year old S-Class would be fair - if YOU had NEW versions of each. However - no matter what you say - that 10 year old S-Class probably had high mileage - and the comparison to a car with none is not fair.

BUT - I also agree that there is little in styling of the G90 that makes me want to have one - they went from a Mercedes knockoff - to an Audi knockoff front end - which makes no sense since Audi cannot sell their own large cars in this size class.

@TomM WRONG! the CT6's "new" platform is that it is an expanded CTS. It's built off Cadillac's modular architecture.

These days manufacturers change one bolt and call the product all new. Don't drink the koolaid.

TomM is right. The CT6 is built on GM's new Omega platform which shares almost nothing with the Alpha.

Looking at all the pictures of it on the link I gave above, (after you click the main picture, more pictures come up), nothing about it says premium luxury car, I'm afraid to say. If anything, it says, "buy me instead of a Chrysler 300". This is the same issue the CTS has, which explains its relatively dismal sales compared to the top luxury brands.

Looks like a mixed S class with some of 7...not bad. But I also agree that CT6 is by far superior to it. Experts said that CT6 is even lighter than the CTS and that is a great advantage when driving dynamics are involved.
