RENDERED SPECULATION: This Is Your BEST Look At The All-New Mercedes-Benz E-Class — Thumbs UP or DOWN?
As I noted in a thread last night, Mercedes-Benz is continuing to rain terror on its competition. The next installment is the much anticipated E-Class sedan.

I know the Spies are going nuts over this thing because every story gets a lot of clicks. And with good reason: this E-Class is expected to bring two critical things forward for the three-pointed star.

1) More technology that will be considered "firsts;" and,

2) An emphasis on shedding unnecessary weight — over 200 pounds, in fact.

There's just one catch though. As we've been following the E's development it's become very clear to us that this all-new E will lack the uniqueness of previous-gen E-Class sedans. From what we've seen it will most certainly be a blend of the C-Class and big daddy S-Class.

That's not a bad thing, just a tad disappointing.

On the interior we've seen spy photos expose a very S-Class-like interior. There's four circular vents placed in the middle and two large TFT displays a la the S.

I think there hasn't been many renderings done yet since the vehicle's been so well captured by spy photographers in recent months; however, Carscoops put together a very accurate render and we couldn't resist sharing it with the Spies.

Check it out and weigh in, below!

Given how unclad the prototypes are getting, that render is probably dead on. It will definitely be the one to beat in the segment. The Audi A6 may as well be a Camry given how dull it is to look at. The A6 also loses out when driving against the current E Class, so the new one will likely only widen the gap. BMW is regurgitating old designs so a brand new 5 series looks like a 10-year-old 5 Series.

Genesis needs to figure out some intrepid marketing to displace slow sellers like the Jaguar XJ , the Audi A6, Lexus GS, and Cadillac CTS. The new E Class should only widen its lead over the non-competition.

While I know this E Class will be a runaway success as it has a following of that similar to it's big brother S Class, I must say I miss the day of the E Class being a bit of a rebel in terms of design from the family tree.

However Mercedes is rumored to be planning a return to the 4-eyed treatment for the refresh which I will be VERY interested in seeing.

I really like MB's design language...even thought it is a bit one sausage, 3 sizes as it relates to the C class, S class and probably E class, the styling still looks great...and it is nice to have Mercedes back in the quality game...built to a standard and not price point.

The F10 5-series looks far better than this new E. Perhaps AMG beast trim will improve cosmesis, because this hurts my eyes like every Benz lately.

The render looks a but truncated from the C-pillar rearward. The almost naked version looks a bit more elegantly swept to the rear so it should have a nicer flow. I do hope Mercedes at least gives the LED driving lights their own unique illuminating pattern, like the double eyelash look of the current model. I am really loving this interior. A perfect blend of C- and S-Class themes.

On a side note, I have to say how surprised I was about two things recently at the International Auto Show (wasn't LA). 1), how little interest the new 7 Series was getting and how "regular" its interior looked compared to the S-Class. The S-Class was constantly swamped whereas the new 7 was only getting about a third of the traffic. 2) how very few people were interested in the new Q7. There were some admirers of the new tech and the nice interior, but the Volvo XC90 and Mercedes GLE Coupe were swarmed like paparazzi after celebrities.

Which show? Frankfurt (IAA)?

Lacks dynamic spirit. Too staid and uninteresting. Definitely not nearly the best E version to go with.

Looking suspiciously like a Hyundai.

We're talking about the Mercedes not the BMW...

Maybe give us 3 options: Thumbs up; thumbs down; or middle finger up (for who really cares since it looks like a blown-up C-Class and a shrunken S-Class).

This will make me money 24-7 and I love it.
