#NAIAS: RUMOR! All-New, Production-Ready Lexus LC500 Set For A Detroit Debut
One all-new product we've been eager to see is the all-new Lexus LC500. You may know this as the LF-LC Concept that rocked our world when it first came out.

From its jaw-dropping exterior design to its very futuristic interior, the LF-LC had us wondering "What has taken Lexus SO long to do something so provocative?" Now if you look at the company's product portfolio, which vehicle ISN'T daring in some form or fashion?

Although the vehicle has been spotted several times since it started testing out in the open, both in The States and Europe, it's design is still a bit shrouded in mystery. We aren't expecting it to be as drastic or sleek as the LF-LC; however, we're thinking this may have the same impact as the old-school SC — it was a hot little thing that appealed to many buyers.

According to the latest reports, the production model will use the RC F and GS F's 5.0-liter V8 motor, churn out approximately 500 horsepower and feature the world's first 10-speed automatic transmission. And you thought eight- and nine-speed gearboxes were enough? In addition to the beefy variant there's also a rumored LC500h on the way that will make use of a 3.5-liter V6 and a hybrid system.

All I know is that now I definitely have a handful of things to look forward to when I land in The Motor City.

...We’ve seen concept cars come and go at past shows, like the first time the LF-LC concept luxury coupe debuted at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. But the artist’s image you see here is very close to how the car will appear on stage according to Lexus sources...

...As the all-new LC 500 and LC 500h will debut in production form at Detroit we can look forward to a hot ‘F’ version in 2018, a coupe rumoured to be fitted with a circa-450kW 4.0-litre V8 boosted by twin electric turbochargers. Bring on 2018....

To *my* eyes, this looks like something you'd pick up for your Hotwheels collection than a real car, and I don't mean that in a good way.

If Lexus releases a cleaner-looking version of the concept LF-LC, then they will have a design winner on their hands. It will make the F-Type and AMG-GT looks rather frumpy in comparison. Then again, I doubt that will happen and Lexus will add more lines, swooshes, creases, and bulges that would make a Japanese hooker proud.
