UAW Strike At Parts Supplier May Hamper Auto Production

United Auto Workers union members at Nexteer Automotive’s manufacturing complex walked off the job early Tuesday after workers rejected a tentative contract with the auto parts supplier.

The Saginaw News reports workers gathered Tuesday morning outside the complex in Saginaw County’s Buena Vista Township holding picket signs announcing a strike.

The automotive steering company has more than 3,200 union employees at the site. UAW Local 699 on Monday said 97 percent of those who voted opposed the tentative deal with company, which is owned by China-based Pacific Century Motors.

A long strike could be felt by the Detroit Three, which are major Nexteer customers. The company produces electronic power steering systems, hydraulic steering systems, steering columns and driveline parts globally. It supplies carmakers including Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., BMW, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Toyota Motor Corp. and Volkswagen AG.

The UAW doesn't care. They are about cash raping the members forced to belong to fund the Socialist/Fascist future of the Democrat party.

Surprised they didn't already move production overseas. Its all about shareholder profits, screw the country and tomorrow, its about what I can pocket today.
