If BMW's New i5 EV Crossover Looks Like THIS, Will You Break Out The Wallet?

BMW will be celebrating its centenary next year, and plans to look forward rather than back with the unveiling of its next i model, the i5.

Speaking exclusively to Auto Express, BMW’s board member with responsibility for sales and marketing, Ian Robertson, said: “Legislation means we’ll inevitably have more zero emissions cars and we’re exploring more i models, although no firm decisions have been made yet.”

What's with the big hole in the center of the hood? Can't be for aerodynamics, could it? Looks weird.

Still too much i8 in that front end for my taste. Ornamental hood scoop looks silly on an EV. Profile and rear end, though not downright ugly, aren't in the least bit appealing, either.

Why can't BMW make the "I" line look like a normal car. Instead they give us these "cartoon" cars with over-styled, over-wrought surface treatments that will look dated in 2 years.

I think my wallet will stay in my back pocket thank you very much. On the other hand that other German manufacturer, Porsche, is making a darn good looking alternative to Tesla.

It just looks like a GIANT i3, which ranks right up there with the new Prius in terms of hideousness. Time for a rethink, me thinks.
