#NAIAS: Place Your Bets! What Is FORD Bringing To The 2016 Detroit Auto Show?
Leading up to the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), the big three Detroit-based automakers are known to have preview events. That's how serious they take the show.

As they should given it's the biggest event in North America all year. Oh, and it is in their backyard.

This year Ford brought something out from hiding. Well, kinda. The Blue Oval "displayed" an all-new product under a black sheet. The only thing the company said was "Do Not Move until 01.11.2016."

Speculation points to the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi, which is the plug-in hybrid variant of the Fusion. But, we're not sure we agree. Having said that, let us know what you think is hiding from everyone at the moment.

Oh hello 2017 Ford Fusion Energi. We'll see you next month at the Detroit Auto Show.

You couldn't afford a Fusion, so why does it matter?

Looks like some sort of plug-in hybrid SUV Coupe, X6 clone, like vehicle.

How about a new Taurus?

@TomM there have actually be a lot of reports that the Taurus will not continue and Ford is vague on what if anything will happen after the current car.

While sales of the Taurus Interceptor fleet car are good, the Explorer Interceptor is blowing it out of the water, so maintaining the Taurus for use as an interceptor isn't that necessary. Moreover the current Fusion is actually BIGGER in some measurements than the old-as-dirt Taurus.

We though a new Taurus was headed our way when it was introduced in China--in disappointingly dull form--but the info was that the Taurus was China only.

Taurus = future cloudy

The Fusion on the other hand is getting a makeover for 2017 so that would be a no brainer.

Gorgeous, Mustang based platform, mid-sized 4 door Lincoln that resembles the Continental. Wishful thinking.... :-) (yes I know the MKZ has been refreshed with a Continental grille)

That would be too much to hope for, but a CLS competitor would be a brilliant move. Ford could also cut a platform sharing deal with Hyundai for RWD. That would be a real no brainer.

Derringer is an idiot...Lincoln will not build a CLS competitor. They say they aren't interested in performance and have shown that the won't do a v8. We know Lincoln and Hyundai will not be platform sharing! Shut up Darringer, you're a fool!

Lincoln and Genesis potentially sharing a platform is no different that Renault and Mercedes sharing a platform...which they do.
