Fisker's Plans Rebirth With $300,000 950 HP Force 1 Karma

The Force 1 (and yes, 'The' is capitalised) will be a totally different proposition to the Karma. Details are thin on the ground, but while the Karma used a 2.0-litre petrol engine as a generator for electric motors, The Force 1's engine will directly drive its wheels - and Fisker says it's going to be the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever put in a road car.

That should certainly endow The Force 1 with plenty of shove, as it will have to beat the 789bhp V12 that sits aboard the Ferrari LaFerrari - although that car has an electric motor to bring the total up to 950bhp.

When Fisker lived, they were a struggling oddity. When then closed their doors and faded into obscurity, most people didn't even notice. Now that they're staging a comeback, I can't help but wonder if they're in the least bit relevant.

The Auto industry is becoming very confusing for me, I often find myself scratching my head with news like this.

They went from making a mostly electric car for "tree huggers" to trying to make a car that would best a V12 Ferrari? Am I missing something?

I would think they would try to compete with Tesla and get some volume or maybe this is just a hailmary that's destined to fail

The original Fisker Karma hit a sweet spot in the market; "A Tesla for folks with range anxiety". That is actually a bigger market than Tesla addresses. The petro/electric approach used by the Karma, Volt, BMW i3, and to some extent the plug in Prius lets people buy a vehicle that fits a wider variety of uses. around town as well as cross country. Railroad locomotives have used this approach for decades, for good reason.

It should be noted this has nothing to do with the rebirth of the newly named KARMA automotive. This car is purely designed and created and being presented by henrik fisker design founded in 2013

That's funny because that is almost the complete opposite of the headline

Certainly designed a beautiful sedan. Would love to see them get off the ground and be successful.

Stylistically I liked the Karma a LOT more than I do the Tesla Model S. It was a shame that it didn't succeed.

"...They went from making a mostly electric car for "tree huggers" to trying to make a car that would best a V12 Ferrari? Am I missing something? ..."

Old Fisker Auto = Karma Automotive. New owners.

Did H Fisker regained legal control & use of the brand name Fisker. Is the Force 1 concept is a new design with a new vision directly form Henrik Fisker himself?

So confused about this concept. Will this be a Karma Auto model? Or is this a Fisker design separate from that company?

The Fisker Karma is a beautiful design. It wouldn't have taken much for them to succeed with such a design. i think if they stuffed the bow 4.4liter 450hp 480tq GAS engine inside this thing and sold it for 80-90k it would have done no worse than a ghibli . all this electric, hybrid nonsense made the car drive like a junk science project.
