SPIED: The All-New Mercedes-Benz E-Class' Interior May NOT Be As Nice As Once Thought...
Not too long ago, I was happy to bring you the all-new images Mercedes-Benz released of its all-new E-Class. That's because its interior heavily mimicked the range-topping S-Class in design and opulence.

Well, it turns out that it may not be all roses in E-Class paradise, folks.

That's because some all-new photos have emerged of the E's interior and there's one bit that's giving me the willies. It just doesn't work, if you ask me.

While the promo shots depicted a dashboard dominated by large TFT displays a la the S-Class sedan, these new pics show a setup that's far from studly. This E is equipped with analogue gauges and a teeny tiny infotainment screen — the one that fills up the space is over 12 inches. Topping this off is an awful lot of shiny black plastic that reminds me of a really poor aftermarket in-dash swap for an Alpine unit or something of the like.

What do YOU think of this look, Spies? Does this RUIN the all-new E-Class' interior?

Click bait! I see a very rough prototype with non-production finishes.

That's the base version which no one will buy. Dealers won't even have them on hand most likely. I know because I work for one.

Indeed you speak the truth.

If someone can't discern the differences between this interior and the official photos released, then you need to get your eyes checked.

The target age of MB cars are mature and senior buyers who have declining vision.
The final production version will have adequately size information and infotainment screens. As said by another post, what we see now are preproduction examples which serve as 'place holders' for the final version.

I hope the shiny black plastic we see in that photo is just a "cover" hiding the real assets, as it extends over to the driver dash area. If that was the final dash/center screen cover, I'd be shocked. It is not up to E-Class stature.

Sorry. Additional info. The far right side of that black plastic cover has rounded corners. You can see it resting past part of the leather trim as if it were just a oversized trim piece used to as a cover. Must not be the final version.

New Mercedes E-Class – equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays.
Is almost a duplicate of the S Class dash and stack.
