BBC Brings Out The Big Guns To Host Revamped Top Gear Series - Are YOU Interested NOW?
Two virtually unknown presenters have reportedly been picked to be Chris Evans' sidekicks on the new Top Gear, as the show appears to descend into turmoil before it has even begun.

German racing driver Sabine Schmitz and motoring journalist Chris Harris are said to have been chosen to join the revamped BBC motoring show.

David Coulthard, the former Formula One star, has also been appointed to the new-look presenter panel, according to The Sun.

Bold predictions: The new Top Gear will TANK. Clarkson, Hammond, and May's new show will be stunningly successful. The BBC will fire the new hosts and pay out the ass to get Clarkson, Hammond, and May back.

Given how Top Gear is a big money maker for BBC America, there were better choices for co-hosts. Jay Leno would have broadened the appeal. Simon Cowell--a full-on car nut--would have given the show the bitchiness that Clarkson was so good at. Wild card? Gordon Ramsay! That would have been great television.

The people they've chosen are toilet tissue with scat marks. FLUSH! They probably couldn't find anyone who wanted the job knowing the impossibility of following in the footsteps of Clarkson, Hammond, and May.

I agree but Clarkson/Hammond & May will probably have more freedom without the BBC so they'll likely never go back... and on the new Top Gear, I won't watch a show with a guy who takes a picture like that one in the middle... close your mouth you juvenile!

With these predictions (which are only wild guesses), have you forgotten the past (which actually happened) that brought them to this point. Clarkson is too great a liability for the BBC to even consider taking him back.

His life is in a downward spiral. He is the next Charlie Sheen and even the facade of having his life together doesn't mean he can handle the pressure of producing 20 episodes a year.

His actions literally left them with no choice but to fire him and your dunce to think they are in the wrong.

The success of Top Gear was 90% attributable to the obscene amount of money and other governmental resources (access to soldiers, munitions, and aircraft carriers anyone?) the BCC lavished on it and 10% to do with May, Clarkson, and Hammond (though they were good).

If money is lavished on the new one, it too will be a smashing success. As a governmental entity of the British government with an axe to grind, I'm sure they will pull out all the stops to make it successful and perhaps in the process drag Clarkson through the mud.

I like the "rainbow" of the new presenters - a ginger, a woman, and a gulf states person. The old presenters being three boorish white guys is no longer 2015 anyway. Speaking of rainbows, did May ever confirm if he counted as "diversity" also?

Can't wait to see the new one!

The vast majority of Top Gear viewers would say 90% of it was the chemistry of Clarkson, Hammond, and May and 10% the lavish funding.

They could triple the budget, but these dull idiots will never get traction..

Dull idiots? You're clearly not a car guy. Chris Harris is the best auto journo bar none and Sabine is awesome! Just check the comments on some real car sites and you'll see they're overwhelmingly positive. Nice BBC!

If Chris Harris were top drawer he would have already been on Top Gear. He is a dull idiot.

I am willing to give the new people a chance - I note that they will be different from the old group - but History has shown that some unlikely people have managed to"click" and surprise in this type of thing. OF course - just as many fail to "click" so if it does not make it - I will not be surprised either.

Harris is a good driver and interesting to watch for that, but he isn't that funny as far as I know. Sabine has some sass and is a KILLER driver, but I am not sure she's got enough screen presence overall. Maybe. I always liked her on Top Gear in the past.

Guess we'll see.

In the end, Clarkson is truly one of a kind, so this can't be anything like old Top Gear. It can still be a fun show to watch, though. They just have to figure where their strengths are and play to those as well as possible.

I think people have romanticized their memories of Clarkson Hammond and May. They didn't have the best chemistry which is why Hammond nearly left of several occasions. They were interesting and fun to watch but not irreplaceable.

May was the dull, slow, old lady, Hammond was the not respected old pretty boy who was often the butt of the joke and Clarkson was a grouchy old person with very strong opinions who was daring enough to make the show worth watching.

So the BBC lost those three.... Next! Put three new faces and people will watch

The fact is Clarkson, May and Hammond together had a good chemistry. Also they played the middle aged man with the pot belly and the fantasy dream of driving these incredible vehicles. They did crazy stunts. Sabine, Chris and David all have the driving pedigree. That does not mean their chemistry will be great or that they will be naturally funny in the way that Clarkson, Hammond, and May have been. Also unless you are a petrol head most people have not heard of Chris Harris or Sabine Schmit, let alone David Coulhard.
