#CES: BMW TEASES What One Of Its Interiors MAY Look Like In The Future — New Functionality + A New Screen
BMW has published the first teaser image of a new concept that will be revealed at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week.

The one-off previews
what the future might look like in terms of interior and user interface, with the aim of further connecting the driver with the vehicle and the environment.

The Bavarian firm mentions the intuitive control of entertainment, communications and navigation with air gestures thanks to a new technology called the AirTouch, which allows the occupants to operate

BMW over-promises and under-delivers. Witness the Gran Lusso's styling excellence and BMW's drab. They need not to do concepts and teasers and produce cars that stun and wow from the get go.

Well said and BMW's much slower sales growth on a percentage basis compared to Mercedes-Benz is indicative of its over promising and under delivering.

Audi is at least bringing its Virtual Cockpit to lower-end models like the A4 as well as high-end R8 and Q7.

yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and help you out here and give you a valuable lesson on "crisis management". While you and your employers at Audi/VAG are in the middle of this whole Dieselgate fiasco you're really not allowed to say anything about anyone else. Just sit back, put one thumb back in your mouth and the other thumb you know where, and keep to yourself until your catastrophe is completed.

I, for one, have no problem not being able to see BMW's interiors. I like this stylistic approach. Kudo's to you BMW for realizing your interiors suck.

Whatever BMW produces always results in an incestuous result. Almost every class of BMW looks like a copy of each other. There is NO individuality within the BMW product line. Even the dashboard and interiors are mere duplications of other models. High quality and performance but little if any imagination.

Extremely well said. Audi realizes it is guilty of this problem but has promised to end the "same design, just larger or smaller" design approach with the next A8 and it will eventually carry its new philosophy to the A7, A6, Q6, Q8 and A9 models.

Years ago every third generation BMW took on a new styling direction inside and out which raised the level of interest in buying a new one. Now all BMW's are cookie cutter the same and booooooooooooooring! I have a new car in my sights next year and BMW no longer on my list though I've own many in the past.

That's not surprising. Just look at BMW's dramatically slower sales growth compared to Mercedes-Benz on a percentage basis. Mercedes-Benz's designs are bold, fresh and exciting and buyers have clearly taken notice.

I predict Mercedes-Benz will be back in the top spot for global sales in 2016 with Audi in second place once the new A8 goes on sale. In the next 2-3 years, once Audi's new design strategy and model expansion are in full gear, I expect BMW will fall to 3rd place in terms of global sales.

Buyers simply don't want the same boring design over and over again. If BMW fails to realize this it can watch its sales growth fail to keep pace with is main rivals. In fact, this is already happening and the trend will only pick up steam once Audi implements its own innovative design strategy.

I predict the new A8 will be revolutionary - the biggest leap forward we've ever seen in the luxury class.

@GermanNut and @runninglogan1 Your checks from Audi are in the mail. You do realize that Audi would have to DOUBLE its sales in the USA to get to where BMW and Mercedes already are, right?

The next A8 revolutionary? The Prologue was supposed to be revolutionary and it is the same worn out styling language that Audi has regurgitated for the past 20 years.
