One Small Change Coming To The 2017 Chevrolet Volt AND Also A BIG One
The 2016 Chevrolet Volt was launched to limited markets mostly in states that are considered electric vehicle friendly. Though it's only been on the market since October, the 2016 MY will be a short one.

The 2017 MY Chevrolet Volt will debut in showrooms come spring time.

According to word on the street, the 2017 MY product will benefit from a change in optional equipment and the way the Volt is packaged. It's not much, really.

The real story here is that the 2017 Volt will be on offer nationwide.

After just driving the 2016 Volt myself, I have to say that I am interested to see how the all-new Volt will sell. The second-generation effort is much more impressive than the first go 'round.

...That 2017 model will get some extra available equipment compared to the 2016 Volt, but will have the same price, according to CarsDirect.

The biggest change in terms of equipment will be the addition of adaptive cruise control as an option on the Premier model.

The system comes bundled with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, low-speed automatic braking, and intelligent high beams--all of which adds $2,185 to the Volt's sticker price...

I'm trying to get custody of a Volt for an extended drive.

My current company driver is a Fusion Hybrid - but I am looking forward to replacing it with a Malibu when they arrive. My driving requirements are actually better served with a Regular Hybrid rather than a Plug-in - I would be spending too much time in Non-EV where the performance of the Volt (MPG) is lower than a regular Hybrid. Frankly - while the Fusion gets me there - that is about all - I HATE the CVT - and performance isn't. I would be happier if they provided a superior seat - but they don't. But on long trips -I can average near mid 40's mpg - and it is bigger than the Volt. It has no real trunk space though.

I had a Fusion for a few months. It was a base SE model and it returned 25 in my in-town driving and 35 on the freeway. One of the reasons I did not get a hybrid was the CVT and the trunk space. I don't know why any manufacturer uses a CVT when not one CVT is a pleasure to drive.

I could easily line up a Malibu, but they are just so ugly.

On the steering wheel is the Chevy bowtie...symbol of low quality and poor reliability. It hurts the eyes just looking at it.
